Nadine Nettmann is a popular American author, who is famous for writing mystery and thriller books. She is particularly well known for writing the Sommelier Mystery series. She is a certified Sommelier herself and is recognized by the Master Sommeliers’ Court. Author Nettmann says that she always looks to get her hands on great wines. She also shows a great interest in knowing about the stories behind those great wines. Author Nettman has visited the wine regions in a number of places all around the world, including Germany, South Africa, Chile, France, and Spain. Whenever she is not visiting any wine region or dreaming about new mystery stories, she likes to travel to exciting places. Nettmann has traveled to many exotic places of the world and has written articles about them. Author Nettmann’s travel articles have made appearances in AAA Hawaii, Modern Luxury Hawaii, Inspirato, and New Mexico Journey. She is a proud member of the Mystery Writers of America, the RWA, Sisters in Crime, the International Thriller Writers, etc. Author Nettmann is happily married and resides in California along with her loving husband. Nettmann says that she enjoyed wine for many years, but her real fascination started when she attended a wine & food festival in the year 2010. At the festival, she left her seat for a couple and was immediately offered a seat on the Master Sommeliers’ panel by Fred Dame, a Master Sommelier himself. Initially, author Nettmann got terrified at this gesture of Fred Dame, but then it sparked a learning desire in her. She became fascinated to know as much as she could about each bottle of wine and their interesting stories.

Shortly after the 2010 wine panel, author Nettmann began pursuing her certification. She prepared around 2,000 flashcards and started using her spare time to go through them and study sincerely. Nettmann claims that it was the hardest she has studied ever in her life. She was fortunate even to be able to join an excellent group of blind tasting. The group members used to meet every week and bring bottles with them hidden inside paper bags so that they could taste the bottles deductively. Author Nettmann obtained her certification in 2011. Nettmann had developed an interest in reading mysteries since she was very small. And as she grew older, her interests kept on growing with her. Nettmann even claims that mysteries are the books that she gravitates to most and they are also the ones that are found on her bookshelves. Eventually, she understood that she wanted to write mysteries when the idea of writing her own book struck her. While growing up, author Nettmann used to read The Famous Five by Enid Blyton. The books of this series were the first ones that she started reading and loved. Then, Nettmann got her hands on the works of Daphne Du Maurier and subsequently got lost in the beautiful description of her books. From then onwards, author Nettmann became a fan of many other writers of mystery books. She even started buying the books immediately after their release. Author Nettmann considers herself lucky to have been able to create the characters of Katie, Tessa, and Dean. These characters were highly appreciated by the readers all across the globe. Author Nettmann looks forward to exploring these characters in her next book, which she is now working on and is expected to release in the near future. Besides reading and writing mystery novels, the one thing that Nettmann likes the most is tea. She likes to drink tea in massive amounts daily. However, she prefers black tea with no milk or sugar in it.

The Sommerlier Mystery series written by author Nadine Nettmann is comprised of a total of 2 books, which were released between the years 2016 and 2017. The first book of this series is entitled ‘Decanting A Murder’. It was released by the Midnight Ink publication in the year 2016. The main characters of this book as described by author Nettmann include Katie Stillwell and Tessa. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Katie Stillwell likes to keep her focus on only two things in her life, that is, her work and her practice of Sommelier Certification with the help of a blind tasting group. When she is about to appear for an exam in the coming week for the certification, she thinks that it is going to be the toughest thing for her. But, things take a different turn when a dead body is discovered at a winery party in the Napa Valley. Not only Katie Stillwell’s exam gets cancelled, but also her best friend named Tessa becomes the prime suspect in the murder. All the evidences obtained by the investigators point to the independent and outspoken Tessa. Katie decides to put a halt to everything else in her life and indulges herself completely in trying to clear the name of Tessa. She makes use of her deductive skills and tries to catch the killer by tracking him down. In the process, several attempts are made on the life of Katie by the killer. Later, Katie realizes that the secrets of everyone must be uncovered in order to get to the bottom of the mystery.

The next installment of the series is called ‘Uncorking A Lie’. The Midnight Ink published this book too in 2017. Author Nettmann has introduced the important characters in this book’s story as Katie Stillwell and Paul Rafferty. At the beginning of the story of the book, it is depicted that Katie Stillwell receives an invitation to attend a dinner party hosted by the famous wine collector named Paul Rafferty at the lavish Sonoma mansion. Katie was always looking for this kind of invitation as she wished to celebrate a rare wine bottle. While at the party, as everyone else is busy enjoying the $19,000 wine bottle, Katie Stillwell realizes that the wine is nowhere close to the older vintage mentioned on the label. And when Katie makes Mr. Rafferty aware of this information, he gives her the task of investigating the matter. After a short while, Katie Stillwell discovers that the deception has stretched far beyond the money matters. And the deeper Katie moves into the counterfeit wine world, the more certain she becomes that a lot is at stake in this forgery business. The most precious thing at stake is her own life and she becomes determined to reveal the names of the real culprits before it is too late.
