The “Nameless” series is a set of bestselling novels by the popular author Dean Koontz. When he was a senior in college he was the winner of the “Atlantic Monthly” fiction competition which is how he launched his fiction writing career.

Over the years the author has had his works published in nearly 40 languages and has sold more than 500 million copies of his works.

Koontz has had fourteen of his novels including “Sole Survivor,” “One Door Away from Heaven” and “Dragon Tears” become number one on the New York Times bestseller list. Dean is now one of no more than 12 authors that have achieved this feat.

Furthermore, Dean Koontz’s novels have also been number-one bestsellers in countries as diverse as Sweden and Japan.

According to the New York Times, he writes satisfying, mastery, and psychologically complex works that are at times lyrical without ever being romantic or naive.

Dean has made a reputation writing about grotesque worlds much like those of Walker Percy or Flannery O’Conner. According to Rolling Stone, he is one of the most popular suspense novelists in America.

Dean Koontz was born and brought up in Pennsylvania and went to the Shippensburg State College. Following graduation from college, he got a job with the Appalachian Poverty Program, where he counseled and tutored underprivileged children.

Upon arriving at his workstation, he was informed that his predecessor had been beaten up by the kids he was to tutor and had to be hospitalized for several works.

It would be a challenging year for Koontz and he would become even more determined to make it as a fiction author.

He used to write during the weekends and nights and he continued writing after he quit the program and went to work in a suburban school district as an English teacher.

After a year of teaching, Gerda his wife told him that she would support him for five years and that if he was unable to become a success, he would never make it.

At the end of the five years, Koontz had become a world-renowned author and his wife had to quit her job to assist in the running of the business side of his new writing career.

Dean Koontz currently makes his home in Southern California, where he lives with Gerda his wife, and Elsa their golden retriever.

The “Nameless” series of novels by Dean Koontz is a set of six novellas that he launched with the publishing of “In the Heart of Fire” in 2019.

The “Nameless” series of novels are all about the life and times of Nameless, a man who has amnesia which means he cannot remember anything.

All the man knows is that he has been employed by a shadowy agency that usually assigns him missions to turn predators into prey all over the country.

He is also charged with bringing justice to people in instances where the law has been found insufficient or unwilling to do so. It is not long before he is having splintered and dark visions which will result in his greatest test yet.

Over the course of the series, Nameless finds himself in all manner of complex situations. He comes up against a bride that has been known to kill husbands in the manner of the black widow spider.

There is also a corrupt small-town sheriff and an elderly care home where several people lost their lives under very bizarre circumstances.

Thankfully, Nameless has a psychic ability and can see the future and the past even if he has no desire to look into his own past.

“In the Heart of the Fire” is the first novel of the “Nameless” series of novels by Dean Koontz.

It introduces Nameless who is a man with the power of looking into the future and the past. He uses his talent to root out evil starting with coming to the aid of Jenny a widowed woman and her two children.

The family seems to have crossed the corrupt Sheriff Russell Soakes which is the worst thing one could do. Anyone that crossed the path of the sheriff or his deputy usually ended up warned, missing, or dead.

Jenny has been bracing herself and hoping she can keep her kids safe. But Russell Soakes does not forgive easily and it may be up to Nameless to protect the family from Soakes’ wrath.

Nameless has seen the outcomes in his visions and fears for the family. He may need to teach the corrupt sheriff a lesson in fear. But in turning one of the worst predators into his prey, he may just unearth some dark secrets from his past.

The second novel of the “Nameless” series is “Photographing the Dead.” In this outing, Nameless has been on the trail of a serial killer that has been hunting his next victim.

Given that Nameless is unable to remember anything beyond the past two years of his life, he has a lot of questions about himself. Nonetheless, this has never stopped him from meting out deserved punishment vigilante style.

While the previous story was a little better, this is another solid addition that comes with plenty of thrills and chills.

The bad guy in this work is a sociopath, which makes him one very scary person as he does not have any conscience.

Still the best thing about it all was the ending in which the killer got a fitting end to what had for all intents and purposes been a miserable existence.

It is an exhilarating work that will get readers disappointed that it ended too soon.

“The Praying Mantis Bride” is the third novel of the “Nameless” series of novels by Dean Koontz.

In this outing, Nameless is on a special mission as he is looking into the case of a man who was part of the Ace Diamonds network. He had been brutally murdered and all evidence indicates that his wife may be responsible.
Looking into the woman’s past, they realize that all her husbands usually died soon after marrying her. But what is even more puzzling is that the police have always ignored this fact.

We watch as Nemeless and his exceptional team set up a fate that may be worse than what she has been doling out to innocent men over the years.

Watching Nameless take on a black widow makes for a delightful story especially when Lucia the black widow tries all she can to stop him but ultimately gets what she deserves.
