About Nick Thacker
The American writer Nick Thacker is an adventure thriller novelist, creating stories that are filled with both tension and suspense. With elements of science-fiction too, he immerses himself in conspiracies that continually twist and turn, keeping the reader constantly guessing. His characters are also extremely well written too, as he has a strong ear for dialogue, making it wholly believable throughout.
He’s gifted at crafting intricate narratives that keep the reader hooked, with his thrilling stories that are fun and inventive. This has managed to bring in readers from all over the world for him, reaching an audience from far and wide. With a number of series currently running, there’s definitely a lot more to come yet, as his readers eagerly anticipate each new release.
Early and Personal Life:
Born in Connecticut in the United States, Nick Thacker would grow up in Texas, showing a clear love of adventure stories from an early age. This would progress throughout the years, as he moved towards action driven plot-lines with adrenaline fuelled narratives. Becoming adept in his craft, he’d constantly take in inspiration from the world around, continually putting it back into his work.
This would carry on throughout his education, as he continued writing, showing a clear passion for the written word. Not one for sentiment in his stories, he’d opt for more action thriller driven novels with a harder edge that kept the reader on their toes. This soon proved to be a successful formula for his readers, attracting an audience from all around the world, as he grew in popularity.
Skiing in his free-time, he’s also an active individual who constantly keeps himself busy, and not just with his writing. This could be seen reflected in his work, as he would write with a fast paced energy that kept the reader constantly hooked. Many readers have come to testify to this, as his work is appreciated by people from all backgrounds, with it resonating far and wide.
Spending most of his time with his family in Colorado, he enjoys time in the mountains there, along with visiting Hawaii often. This has kept him writing regularly too, as he continues to seek inspiration and ideas for his next big exciting novel. Living with his family, he writes all the time, and this will continue for years to follow, with plenty more titles planned.
Writing Career:
The first book to be released by Nick Thacker would be the stand-alone title ‘The Golden Crystal’, which would come out in 2013. Whilst, like many other titles to come from the author, it would be a conspiracy thriller, the story was entirely self-contained, with it not being a part of any series as such. Still though, it would feature many of the popular hallmarks that readers would come to know Thacker for during the rest of his career to follow.
It was just one year later that Thacker would go on to begin his much loved ‘Harvey Bennett’ series of novels, starting with ‘The Enigma Strain’ in 2014. This would prove to be an extremely popular franchise, with it running for ten novels and counting, as it has room to carry on indefinitely. They’d all center around the leading protagonist of Harvey Bennett, as he solves various different mysteries and conspiracies all over the world.
Bringing in elements of science-fiction too, Thacker fast learned exactly what it was that his readers were looking for. Creating strong characters in fun and engaging stories, he was always one step ahead when it came to unveiling each of his mysteries. Many of his stories would be ongoing too, as he would take a serialized approach to much of his work, giving it a hard edge in the process.
Some of his other series include ‘Lucid’, which he wrote alongside fellow author Kevin Tumlinson, and ‘Relics Singularity’ to name but a few. He’s also written with the authors Kevin Ikenberry, David Berens, Kristi Belcamino, and Jim Heskett, making him a highly prolific novelist himself. Winning plenty of awards and recognition for his work, Thacker continues to be a renowned writer the world over.
The Jefferson Legacy
Initially released through the ‘Turtleshell Press’ publishing label, this would first come out on the 28th of August in 2017. Setting up the fourth instalment in the ‘Harvey Bennett’ franchise, it continues from where the previous title left off. Bringing in a whole new case for him and his team to solve, he manages to get to the very heart of this intriguing self-contained mystery.
Harvey Bennett returns, as Ben and the rest of the squad are setting about applying the final touches to their ‘Civilian Special Operations’ headquarters. That’s when there’s a murder, leading the team to Philadelphia on a new case, one involving the theft of an otherwise inconsequential artefact. Taking them to the American Philosophical Society, they find themselves in over their head in a conspiracy dating all the way back to the founding fathers. Will they find out who the killer really is? Can they navigate this new conspiracy? What truly became of the Jefferson Legacy?
The Golden Crystal
This would be an entirely stand-alone conspiracy thriller, published through the Turtleshell Press publishing house once again. Brought out in 2013 on the 27th of June this time, it would contain an action thriller that was everything readers had come to expect from Thacker by this point. With all the hallmarks of a great mystery conspiracy adventure novel, it’s the ideal starting point for many readers new to the author.
Back in 1791 plans are made for the nation’s capital, as designs for the city are discovered years later with notes from none other than Washington and Jefferson. Then there’s the Second World War when American military scientists discover the secrets of the atom in 1943 with the Manhattan Project. Now Vilocorp plan to create the idealized human specimen, and there’s nothing that will stand in their way, nothing apart from two men. Will they be able to uncover the centuries old conspiracy? Can they overcome the obstacles in their path? What will become of the golden crystal?
