Primarily writing contemporary romance novels, the novelist Nicole Flockton is well-known for her romantic suspense stories. A natural-born storyteller, she has always been gifted with words, attracting countless readers from around the world to her work. Early and Personal Life

Telling stories every since she was a child, she would grow up with a keen interest in the craft and the art of writing. Making a powerful impression upon her teachers with her skills as a writer, she would refine and hone her skills as an author over the years. Growing up in Australia, she would come to find her own voice, all while drawing creative inspiration from the world around her.

Following the birth of her first child Flockton would turn her attention to focus on her writing, concentrating on romances. Spending time on an online romance forum, she would soon take the time out to become a writer of the genre herself. Currently residing with her husband and their two children, she left Australia, moving to Houston, Texas, in the United States and continues to write to this day.

Writing Career

The first novel that Nicole Flockton would publish was back in 2013 titled ‘Bound By Her Ring,’ which was a romance book. This book would also become the first in her ‘Bound’ series of romance novels, with ‘Bound By His Desire’ following it up in 2014 the following year. Other series that she’d go on to write would include ‘Lovers Unmasked,’ ‘Freemasons,’ and ‘Elite’ to name just some of them.

Over the course of her career she’s primarily focused upon writing romance novels, many of which feature suspense. She’s also published stand-alone novels, many of which also feature romantic relationships throughout them as well. Writing novels alongside fellow writers such as Kadie Scott as well, she’s also produced countless omnibus collections of her work too.

A Merry Texan Christmas

Originally coming out through the ‘Tule Publishing’ label, this would first arrive on the 20th of October in 2020. It’s a self-contained romance story that would also be the third book in the ‘Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge’ series of romance novels. The books would all be set in the same location featuring character the same family, but they can all be read as stand-alone titles.

Dealing with life living back home in the small-town of Sweet Ridge in Texas, former baseball star Trey Prentice is adjusting to now being a book-store owner. Looking to decorate the town for Christmas, he finds himself in competition for the best shop windows with local librarian and Xmas aficionado Maggie Watson. Soon their friendly rivalry turns to flirting though, as passions arise between them both, making way for a potential romance. Are they going to find each other at the end of it all, will Maggie learn there’s more to life than Xmas and books, and what will become of a merry Texan Christmas?

A feel-good romance story, this hits all the right beats with its easy-going escapist cheer, bringing the reader in for a warm and cozy read. There’s a lot to enjoy here, from its light-hearted narrative to its engaging characters, as they each are perfectly balanced throughout the story. Keeping the audience glued to the page, it understands its genre, making for an excellent casual read that’s instantly accessible.

The Matchmaker’s Match

This book would also come out through the ‘Tule Publishing’ imprint, with it being released in 2019 on the 18th of June. It was the third book in the ‘Man’s Best Friend’ series of romance novels, with it being a series of self-contained stories. Each book is thematically linked through the idea of a military K-9 handler finding love, and the novels can be read on their own.

Following a one-night stand, Meredith Turner doesn’t expect to see Lincoln Forrest again, but this changes when he’s made best-man at her best-friend’s wedding. Not only that, but she the bride of honor, so they must work together, leading to him helping her with a huge personal issue. While he helped friends meet their matches, Lincoln has made a rash of bad decisions lately, including leaving the army as K-9 handler, but everything changes when Meredith and Lincoln grow closer after he helps her. Will they overcome the obstacles placed in their way, can they deal with their feelings for one another, and what will become of Lincoln now he’s met the matchmaker’s match?

As a simple premise this is used effectively, once again clearly showing what Nicole Flockton does best. Using each character to their full potential it’s a fun and engaging romance that really delivers on every single level. The world of the novel is also well realized, with its finely detailed use of setting and location feeling wholly real and believable upon the page.
