Nicole Pyland is a top selling American writer of lesbian fiction romance books best known for her novels such as All the Love Songs and No After You and bestselling series such as San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Sports, and much more. She has had more than 30 books published since 2017. Born and raised in Indiana, Nicole majored in English and Film and got an MS in behavior analysis before relocating to California. Besides writing, Nicole is the Head of Training in an upcoming company.
The Best Lines is the first book in the Chicago series by Nicole Pyland. Meet Eva Dash, with a doctorate in American Literature with a track record of getting a job. While attending a date with a colleague, a mysterious woman drops a napkin on her lap on her way out of the restaurant. The date is ruined, and the worst thing, she loses her job the next morning. In an effort to drown out her sorrows, she goes into a bar for a drink and ends up meeting November Elliot (Ember). Ember works in a local Italian restaurant with her parents and is set to inherit the family business as soon as her parents retire. However, Ember doesn’t want to inherit the business; at the same time, she’s unsure about what she wants to do with her life.
Like other Pyland’s stories, The Best Lines features a heavy dose of fantasy, especially involving Ember, who, besides her cool name, is a great mathematician, mechanical polymath, and a super-fast reader. She has never attended college, thanks to her discouraging family. For this reason, her brilliance is buried deep down in her. One of the best things about Nicole Pyland’s novels is that she never shrinks from relationships that grow steadily and smoothly.
All the Love Songs is the second installment in the Celebrities series by Nicole Pyland. We are introduced to Peyton Gloss, the world’s most popular and famous singer and songwriter well known for her songs topping the chart lists, her July 4th events, and her famous girl squad, inviting her friends to celebrate with her. But this year, she did more than before, inviting all her friends to join her for a one-week adult summer camping experience.
Meet Mackenzie Smyth. She gets invited for a TV show audition, and she plays with it thinking she’s had no chance of getting the role she wants. But five years later, she is one of Hollywood’s most famous television actresses. Despite all her success, she is socially challenged and struggles interacting with people and spending time with her agemates.
Then there’s Lennox Owen, a Hollywood royalty famous right from birth. She has remained in the business because she had nothing else to do. After all, it was expected of her to remain. When Kenzie and Lennox meet, there’s an instant attraction between them. And the camp makes it a perfect opportunity for them to explore their possibilities. But after the instant attraction from their one-week summer camp disappears, can the two still find that spark to keep their relationship working?
One of the best aspects you will love about this novel is that it is instant love, and at the same time, it doesn’t feel like it’s instant love. How can you instantly get two people to fall in love in just one week and simultaneously make the relationship feel like it has been going on for over a week? This proves that Nicole Pyland is a talented writer; she knows what to deliver, making Kenzie and Lennox’s interactions an interesting read. The novel includes a mix of some interesting moments, and at the same time, the novel keeps you aware of the attraction between Kenzie and Lennox. Nicole does a fantastic job crafting fascinating primary and secondary characters that will get every reader hooked from the first to the last page. The setting is nicely chosen, with plenty of feel-good moments and laughs.
The main characters, Kenzie and Lennox, are beautiful and talented actresses who are so much more than that. Gradually as the novel advances, we get to know more about their personalities and insecurities. For example, Kenzie is on the autism spectrum, and that’s awesome because every character doesn’t have to be neurotypical for the story to be astounding. The sparks fly between the two main characters, even though it does not at first result in them having sex. They have their ups and downs, insecurities, questions, and plenty of conversations.
Always More is the debut novel in the Sports series by Nicole Pyland. We are introduced to Everly Holman, the main character between internship and getting her dream job, when she stumbles upon an online listing that she thinks might be perfect for her. As an amateur sports psychologist, she worries that she may never find the right sport for herself. But she finally feels at home when she sends an application for a job with the LA legends, a professional volleyball team.
Meet Wyatt Wicked, one of the world’s best and most famous volleyball players. She is capable of playing in any professional league and has played in many different leagues throughout her entire career. When the United States creates its first pro- women’s league, she anticipates playing on her home soil and finally doing what she loves most for her country. But Wyatt is not the type of woman to trust psychology in sports. However, when she encounters Everly Holman, she immediately starts to trust her to help improve her career.
Wyatt also sees Everly more than a doctor. But sadly, Everly might not be the person for her, for she might not be willing to risk her career as a psychologist over mere feelings of love. As the two work to establish the ultimate team, they soon discover that sometimes love is worth more than the possibility of losing whatever they have worked on all the years. If you enjoy reading lesbian fiction romance books, then you will find much satisfaction in Nicole Pyland novels.
