The Night Stalkers is a series by M.L. Buchman. This is the pseudonym of American author also known as Matthew Lieber Buchman. His novels have been critically praised by Booklist as one of top ten romance novels of the year 2012 and 2015. This series has around twenty four books that are very interesting and exciting.

The night stalkers is an action-packed military romantic suspense novel series. The night-stalkers are true life flyers of the United States Army’s Special Operation Aviation Regiment. That is they fly for 160th SOAR and they fly with their hearts wide open. Their obligation is to deliver rangers, Special Forces troops, delta force and SEALS into hidden places where no one else can find them.

They are also supposed to get these groups back out of those places. Their motto is quite simple and that is; Night Stalkers Don’t Quit also described as NSDQ. These guys uphold their motto because they do not quit no matter what. At first they were over the horizon in Panama, Bin Laden’s compound, Grenada and Mogadishu.

Generally if you got to hear about them, then something must have gone really wrong. They rule the night with powerfully custom-made helicopters. This included the Dap Hawk, the most awful gunship ever flung into the night sky and Direct Action Penetrator Black Hawk. The novel series mainly focuses on the chopper as the centre story. These night stalkers are almost invisible and well trained. The flyers are all men without even a single woman.

The Night is Mine is the first book in the Night Stalker series. This book starts off with the best bang ever. The star is virtually a superwoman. She is the only woman in Black Hawk Down Pilot. She is able to match any woman or man in the battle. Inexplicably, Captain Emily is removed from her mission under Major Mark Henderson and is made to become a personal bodyguard and chef for the first lady.

Emily and President, Peter Matthews, were childhood friends. She had a painful crush on him when they were still young. Peter realizes that there is something strange going on in the White House and it could possibly threaten the well-being of his wife the First Lady. So he decides to call his childhood friend Emily to run an underground mission and stop the evil plans that were on-going.

Major Mark is in a fix because he is extremely attracted to Captain Emily but she is under his command so he has to hide his true feelings toward her. Now she has been removed from his command and no one is talking about why or where she might have gone. Mark encourages himself that he will be better if he let go of her. Though there is something about Emily that that pushes him to try to discover where she had gone and if she was in any danger at all.

Mark instinctively knows that she will need him. When tragedy strikes her mission, he swiftly shows up to help Emily unravel the secret and protect her. The love story between Emily and Mark is quite captivating, sensual and lasting. It rings true to both the characters. The book is an interesting puzzle and very fascinating to read about and see how it ends.

Wait until dark is the third book in the Night Stalkers series by M.L. Buchman. It digs deep into the dangerous and complex world of Elite Helicopter fighter pilots with their in air support team. Sergeant Davis Connie is a genius mechanic who is blessed with a photographic memory. She is new to Major Emily’s Black Hawk helicopter crew. Though she is new she has already impressed a staff sergeant known as Big John Wallace.

Connie is described as a nerdy introvert who had no family support. She gradually begins to open up to Big john as they go through an intense training together for a high-stake mission. The author mixes harsh military waffle and adrenalin-spiking battles. He takes a very sensitive tactic to Big john and Connie’s relationship. He allows two cautious individuals to get to know each other and build a relationship of trust before moving to the next level of emotional and physical intimacy.

While the outcome of their mission is quite predictable, the readers often feel factual tension over whether Connie, being an introvert, will allow herself to add another relationship with Big John to her self-contained and hyper organized life. They also wonder how Big John will be able to get to understand her and be ill to be in a relationship with her. The book is a slow-building and captivating life story for most readers.

The sixth book in Night Stalkers is known as Peters Christmas. In this book the story focuses more on two characters; that is Kim-Ly Genevieve Beauchamp and Peter Matthews. Genevieve works at the UNESCO World Heritage Chief of Unit for Southeast Asia. Her current mission is to protect the Cambodian temple. And Peter is the president of the United States of America. The mission he is supposed to carry out is to ensure there is stability in Southeast Asia.

The first time they met was at the United Nations. They are portrayed as two different people from two very different worlds. Peter was born and raised in Washington D.C. since the heart breaking death of his wife two years ago; he has become the most entitled bachelor on earth. Genevieve is a French beauty from Vietnam. She is intelligent and this character about her amazes Peter. Little do they know that both their hearts and lives will be on the line this Christmas period.

Generally M.L. Buchman knows how to make the reader want to really know his characters. The story is full of suspense and we still get to see the characters in the previous books. This is a good love story without too much erotic details that lets you glance into some of those very intimate moments. Peter plays his role quite well and acts as the best presidential character in the book.
