About Nita Round

A hugely successful fantasy author, British novelist Nita Round has proven to be enormously popular with readers far and wide. Refining both her style and her overall tone, Round came to find her own approach to writing, making the stories all her own. Currently still writing to this very day, she lives with her wife as she continues to write from her home in England.

Writing Career

Starting out on online forums, Nita Round would find her voice through various fantasy forum writing exercises. In time she would come to writing her own fantasy novels, beginning with the book ‘Lost and Found’ in 2020, which would also begin her ‘Evie Chester Files’ series. She would also begin her ‘Towers of Earth’ series that same year, beginning with the novella ‘A Hint of Hope,’ which was also in 2020.

Primarily focusing on the fantasy genre, she would publish a lot, including the stand-alone urban fantasy novel ‘The Ghost of Emily Tapper’ in 2021. All of this would prove to be hugely successful for her as a writer, allowing her to create a brand for herself as a novelist with something to say. Still maintaining a profile and presence both offline and on, she continues to write to this very day, with plenty more to follow.

Fur and Fangs

Initially released through the ‘Pink Tea Books’ publishing label, this would first come out in 2021 on the 12th of January. The third book in ‘The Evie Chester Files,’ it’s a magical collection of mysteries set in a fantasy world, and they can be read as stand-alone titles. There’s a lot to offer returning fans though, as they do provide ongoing arcs for each of the characters, developing the world and the tone.

Standing up against all manner of evil, Hesta and Evie must this time deal with The Butcher of Bristelle, who’s raging a war of terror against the city. Encountering the remains of one of their victims, she soon realizes nobody is actually safe, as this is no ordinary killer. Using their gifts and magic to uncover the truth, they soon both find themselves in a race against the clock to locate the killer. Will they be able to manage it in time, can they survive themselves long enough to find out, and what will become of all the fur and fangs?

Really establishing a sense of world-building, this would create an immersive experience for the reader with its engaging tone. For both newcomers and fans of the franchise alike, there’s plenty to offer fantasy readers, with its fun and intriguing story. Making the most out of the premise too, it really bring the most out of its core concept, allowing the narrative to move along at a brisk pace.

A Touch of Darkness

First published in 2020 on the 2nd of April, this would originally come out through the ‘Pink Tea Books’ imprint. As the third book in ‘The Towers of the Earth’ series of novels, it would carry on from the previous two titles in the franchise. It’s best that they’re all read in order so as to make the most of this particular steampunk fantasy series of novels.

Watching the Queen of the Desert’s brutal reign end, there’s a storm of secrets threatening to destroy every one of them, as it lies in the shadows. Wherever Magda goes, she finds her heritage calling to her, even as she attempts to make her way home to safety. Will she ever find peace and sanctuary, can any of them, and what will happen when they all find themselves dealing with a touch of darkness?

As a steampunk fantasy novel, this works so well, making it an engaging and enthralling story that really works. Really showing her imagination as an author, Round definitely has a sense of both scale and scope here, creating a vast and expansive world. With its expert sense of world-building and character development, it really is a must for fans of the series wanting to discover more.
