This author really likes to create worlds and feelings of romance, love, and more, and she definitely enjoys the general intrigue that comes along with romantic stories!

Catherine Bybee is the creator as well as the author of the Not Quite series. This fictional series of novels kicked off in 2012. This is when the first book was put out for readers to check out for the first time and the series kept going with the release of the sequel in the series, which is titled Not Quite Mine. This fictional series has multiple books in it so if you are looking for a romance series that goes beyond a standard trilogy and has twice the amount of books to read and is full of steamy relationships and connection, this might be the series for you!

Not Quite Dating is the first novel in the Not Quite series by author Catherine Bybee. In this book, readers get the chance to meet the character of Jessica Mann. She is a mother and a waitress, and is busy doing what she can to bring up her son as a single mom.

Jessica is the type of woman that finds herself being very practical– to the point where it might even be a fault of hers. Between waiting tables to keep herself and her son afloat, she is just busy all of the time and exhausted too. It’s not easy to take on everything in her life and Jessie finds that not having a partner to help pay the bills and split the work is really taking a toll.

It should come as no surprise that this young mother has absolutely no free time available for such flippant things such as dating. Jessie isn’t even planning on seeing anyone and even if she wanted to, she feels like she just does not have the luxury of going out and dating around. On top of that, she wants to do everything that she can to give her son the safety and security of a home life that he deserves.

Jessica doesn’t really see how bringing a guy into her life would help. Maybe in time she could find a man that would make a good husband and have the money to support them. Jack Morrison comes along just in time for her to wonder whether her policy about seeing others socially is a good idea. Did she speak too soon?

She first meets Jack as a customer. He is the type of guy that is wearing a cool cowboy hat and happens to be very attractive. For the first time in a while, Jessie has a bit of a crush. He appears to be broke, though, and that might end up being a deal breaker for her.

She sees Jack on a somewhat regular basis, and even though he is constantly attempting to chat her up and flirt in an innocent type of way, this waitress decides that she wants to maintain her distance. Every time that he tries to warm up to her, she just does not take him up on his interest. Jack seems like he is a guy that enjoys life, but might have his head up in the clouds.

She is wondering whether someone like Jack would be the type of guy that is going to be able to provide. After all, Jessica has her sights set on a bright future for her family. She wants to be certain that the person that she gives her heart to has the ability to give her son everything in life and take care of them all. They could be a real family and not have to worry about the possibility of living in poverty or having to stress in tough times.

The holidays are approaching, however, and it is one of those times of the year where you want to spend it with loved ones. Jessie only has her son, and the idea of spending Christmas on her own makes her feel a bit lonely. This Texan man with all of his charm is starting to grow on her.

Jack appears to be without wealth or riches, but is that really the case? The waitress might have had his number all wrong this entire time after all. He knows that he’s the heir to a hotel empire, but she doesn’t. He is accustomed to women being very interested in him wherever he goes, but it gets old after a while, particularly if you suspect that they love the idea of your money than actually being with you.

Jessie is just looking for security, and he wants to give that to her. He’s starting to find that this hard-working woman might just be the girl of his dreams. Will he be able to win her over or fail to impress? Can this waitress let down her walls long enough to fall in love with the man of her dreams? You will have to pick up this book to find out!

Not Quite Mine is the second novel in the Not Quite series. When Katie Morrison comes across Dean Prescott, this heiress’s world is about to come tumbling down.

Dean’s the only guy she has ever fallen for. She loved him deeply, but when she runs into him at a wedding, she has a revelation that her life has a huge hole in it. She is shocked when a baby is left at her front door after the wedding.

Katie decides to look after her until she finds her mother. She’ll have to stall Dean so he doesn’t find out anything. Can he get over his broken heart? Does Katie love him still? Will she keep the baby? Read this book to find out what happens between these two former lovers in the end!
