About The Outlanders:

“Outlanders” is a series of science-fiction novels created by Mark Ellis. It is published by Gold Eagle Publishing. James Axler is a house name. It was first used for the “Deathlands” series. The original Axlers died in 2000. Mark Ellis had been using the house pen name since1990’s. In 1996, he created the popular “Outlanders” series. Historically, he has written more book as “James Axler” than any other writer. There are total of 67 books so far in this series, starting from the first one-Exile to Hell in 1997. The most current one is No. 67 Cosmic Rift in 2013 by Rik Hoskin. Although both Deathlands and Outlanders used the name “James Axler” byline, the outlanders series is primarily written by its creator Mark Ellis whereas multiple authors produced Deathlands.

Plot

The story is about the core group of explorers- Brigid Baptiste, Grant, Kane and Domi. They operate the Cerberus Redoubt, which is a secret military base. After the holocaust that devastated the earth some two hundred years back, chaos and barbarism gives way to a centralized, government-ruled by nine mysterious barons.

The first book, released in June of 1997’s Exile-to-Hell, the heroines and heroes of Outlanders slowly-uncovered the truth about the barons, the-Archons and the nuclear holocaust and. They learn that Earth and humankind have been influenced since the-dawn of time.

Kane, Salvo, Grant, Pollard and several other Magistrates are in Deathbirds flying down a canyon. They are forced to fight their way in where a man named Milton Reeth is hiding. Milton is in the process of downloading data from a computer onto a CD rom. curiosity gets the better of Kane and he pockets the CD Rom.While they wait, Kane interrogates the man. He finds out that Milton Reeth is trading in human flesh. To whom, he doesn’t know. He forces the man to show him the merchandise. The captives are all disease ridden outlanders, the worst of humanity. Kane takes the possession of the CD.It is daunted on Kane about the mystical gateway that people hear about. It is the way that allows people to travel around the world.

Eventually Salvo arrives and kills Milton demands to know why he didn’t serve the Termination Warrant on site like he ordered Kane to do. He is angry but lets it slide for the time being. He kills Milton and the group head back to Cobaltville. Kane was called in Salvo’s office to report what he observes, but he refuses that he sees anything unusual. Salvo is then ordered by the barons to fill in Milton Reeth’s position and resumes the acquisition of healthy goods. The trust wants Salvo to make Kane his right hand man. However in the meantime, Kane must understand the data on the CD. He asks for the help from Brigid Baptiste, the woman to crack the code. It turns out to be a record of transactions, the selling of outlanders. The story in the first book goes on to the discovery of many enemies threatening mankind. There are battles, casualties, loss. The truth weighs heavily in their minds.

The second book of the series-Destiny Run was released in September of the same year. The story picks up where a warrior, Kane serves the-lords of the villian, but on a retaliatory quest, he learns a forbidden-glimpse of the future that makes him an-outcast. In exile with him are Grant, golden keeper of the archives, and Brigid Baptiste, an only friend in a hostile-land. Together they continue to uncover the evidence of the world’s fate. Many characters in the second book are fully developed. There are many more clues and hints and the Khan supernatural power.

The series goes on up until these days, however, According to creator Mark Ellis, Outlanders was not at all conceived as having connection to Deathlands. The link between the two series came after all the other elements had been anticipated by the Ellis who had already published several novels in the Deathlands-series.

Mark Ellis remained the key author of the series up until 2004 that Gold Eagle started publishing from other author such as Victor Milan, Douglas Wojtowicz and Rik Hoskin under the same pen name.

Though internationally popular, the outlanders by Mark Ellis has never made to movie or TV series. There are several titles of “Outlander” by other authors that were made until movie or TV series. His long standing novel hit the stores in 1997. After that, he was contracted for says he’s contracted for the total of 11 years of its publication. Mark says, “Although the series is story and the casts in the-future, there are characters are built from from the novel-U.N.C.L.E. influences, rather consciously as well as deliberately, such as the villain named Colonel-Thrush and the enemy called the Millennial-Consortium. However, many of his longtime fans would find something engaging in the Outlanders. U.N.C.L.E. influences, some-unconscious, some-deliberate like the recurring-villain named Colonel-Thrush and a new-enemy called the Millennial-Consortium who later appeared in the upcoming books. Mark wanted all readers to appreciate that Outlanders was more than typical stories. It’s got its universe and rather unique characters. It used to have impact on him early on in his life. He hoped that would do the same to his readers.

There was a release of The Outlanders as audiobooks. The format was similar as the-style of old-time radio, with multiple-voice actors, sound effects” Fans could check out the samples of the work at Graphic Audio website. The audio samples of his“outlanders as audiobook gave different flavors. Some found them to allow more of the imaginations to run wild, better than reading.

Ellis has had his books published traditionally for many years, as the world turns more to eBook; he was somewhat against to the eBook concept initially. But he accepted it since CRYPTOZOICA was made available as an eBook and its phenomenal sales. He finally agreed to more eBooks of his own work. But it was “Rag Baby” that was released as his first eBook edition.

Today, Mark Ellis lives in Newport, Rhode Island with his longtime wife. They founded the Newport Round Table writers group.

I discovered your e books in November and am now up to book 53.im not so good with technology but my son used an old phone to give me the hooks as a present and I’ve loved them. I’ve always been z Sci fi addict especially the books in a series, I like to get to know the characters, so your books have been perfect. The romantic in me wants to see Kane and Bridget ending up together but I shall wait and see. I’m a disabled 62 year old woman and you’ve given me a lot of pleasure listening to your books, so thank you for letting them be turned into audio. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has trouble handling books so I thank you on their behalf too xx

    With kind regards
