The other reason for her to visit her hometown is the sudden and unexpected death of her grandfather, after which is required to take care of her grandmother. Eleanora Pacelli had planned to stay at her grandparents’ house only for a short time, after which she had planned to move out again and find a job for herself to earn her livelihood. But then, on being forced by her grandmother to look after her old pizzeria for some time, Eleanora Pacelli decides to stay a little longer.

Later, Eleanora’s grandmother asks her to take over the pizzeria and start looking after its business as she too is getting very old and there will be no one left except her to take care of the pizzeria’s business after her death. Eleanora Pacelli gives in to the demand of her grandmother and makes the old pizzeria her own responsibility. And when Eleanora realizes that the pizzeria can help her turn around her life and achieve whatever she hopes for outside of her hometown, she begins working very hard with the purpose of making the pizzeria a grand success. While trying to bring the old pizzeria to life, Eleanora Pacelli also tries to put her life also back together.

Things appear to be going smoothly for Eleanora Pacelli and her restaurant until a dead body is discovered near the pizzeria. The body is found under suspicious circumstances. Now, it becomes very important for Eleanora Pacelli to get to the bottom of this murder mystery in order to safeguard the reputation of her pizzeria. She is required to find out and help the police catch the killer as soon possible for keeping herself from losing all that she has worked very hard to rebuild.

The important characters of this book’s plot include Russell Ward and Eleanora Pacelli. At the beginning of the story of the book, it is depicted that after experiencing a cold and long winter, the Kittiport town in Maine finally faces the arrival of spring. Eleanora Pacelli has been very eagerly waiting for the weather to become warmer. As spring has started in Kittiport, she can now easily open a new patio alongside her pizzeria. Her new business idea begins to pick very soon as the customers seem to like it very much. Eleanora thinks that the time is right for her to have a celebratory dinner along with the town’s sheriff named Russell Ward. But, before that can happen, another disaster strikes in Eleanora’s life.

The dead body of a man is found inside Russell Ward’s home. Russell decides to drop every other thing in his life and start investigating the case so as to solve it well before the killer takes the life of one more innocent person. In the meantime, the seating arrangement outside of the pizzeria tends to give the feel of an ambient atmosphere. The spring season tends to help the cause even more, and this in turn is helping to attract more business for Eleanora’s pizzeria. However, it seems to have made the crew at the pizzeria even busier. Eleanora decides to hire an extra employee. But, soon after the new employee starts his job, Eleanora Pacelli begins to notice a few suspicious things taking place around her restaurant.

A time comes when she finds herself torn between doing whatever is possible to help Russell catch the murderer and coming with solutions to the problems in her own life as well as in her pizzeria. Eleanora becomes so much stressed that she wishes spring had never arrived in the town. The book is full of interesting characters and intriguing twists & turns. The readers found the book very interesting to read. The fact that author Benning has done the setting around a pizzeria business is what was liked the most by critics as well as the readers. On the whole, the story looks to be a completely entertaining one. The storylines and setting appear to be blended with the mysterious plot perfectly. This helped in the overall success of the book and also helped to attract more audience from all over the world.
