Publication Order of Lost Mission Books

With approximately fourteen authors so far undertaking the science-fiction saga ‘The Paradisi Chronicles’, this series is no small undertaking. Each author brings something different to the table as well, as they all manage to inject some of their own personality into the series, making it one of the most diverse sagas to date. Not only that, but all of them have made their own name in the world of publishing, having previously published works in the field prior to this series. This means that it is one of the most concise series of its kind, allowing each of them to build upon the initial premise, taking it in new and exciting directions. One of the most interesting aspects about this particular series though, is that of the open-source nature of its universe. What this means is that it’s free for anyone to submit their own work to, as it is then peer reviewed before being accepted as canon. Working as a collaborative scheme, it manages to work as a series that is constantly shifting and evolving, taking the reader in continually new and exciting directions. The world itself is always growing as well, with new components being added all the time, as the reader explores it alongside the authors themselves. With the series of ‘The Paradisi Chronicles’, it manages to chart an ongoing science-fiction narrative that use themes that are relevant today. Using all sorts of different sources of inspiration, it draws from a whole well of different influences during the course of its entire run. Set in the last decades of the twenty-first century, it charts humanity’s exodus to the stars following the dwindling resources and environmental disasters occurring on Earth. Set up in 2025 by a number of wealthy individuals, they plan the ‘Paradisi Project’, which establishes an effort to explore space. Looking to inhabit the Moon and Mars, they work at creating something of lasting value that will benefit humanity in the long-run for good, with characters and scenarios growing from there, which they’ll continue to do so for some time to come.

Incorporating a number of different series into the franchise, along with a whole collection of different novels, this manages to bring a whole variety of different elements into the mix. The fact that it is open to anyone really benefits the series, with a few overseeing the general progress of the series overall. This makes for an entirely different kind of series that definitely manages to create something that is completely different. Not only that, but it has also found itself a wide-ranging audience, with readers from all across the globe looking to find out more on this world.

Saber and Science

Initially brought out in 2015 on the 3rd of August, this would set up the Tenebra Triangle section of the Paradisi Chronicles. Written by Andy R. Bunch, it manages to create its own distinct story using the principles and template of the overall Paradisi narrative. It also works at creating its own distinct tone within the world, feeding into the over-arcing narrative of the story as a whole.

Effectively working as a science-fiction detective novel, Bunch really makes the most of the format, taking it in new and interesting directions. His use of the overall Paradisi arc is done extremely well, fully taking advantage of what the world has to really offer. The characters are also very well drawn, bringing the reader in and creating a sense of real intimacy in an otherwise grand narrative.

Set in the badlands of a remote mining planet located out in the far reaches of space, it appears that Constable James Paladini has his work cut out for him. After someone is shot down the space elevator to their death there it appears that something nefarious is going on. Not only that, but he’s instructed not to follow up on the case, orders which Paladini can’t follow through, as he must bring those responsible to justice. On top of that, the death has left a group of survivors stranded out in the badlands, something which also needs to be rectified. Will Paladini manage to find those responsible for the murder? Can the survivors be rescued? What’s really going on with saber and science?

Paradisi Escape

This time written by the Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Cheri Lasota, this sets up its own section of the Paradisi Chronicles universe. Published through the ‘Ever-Sea Press’ publishing house, this would be the first in the ‘Paradisi Exodus’ series of novels, setting up an entirely new storyline. Originally published on the 14th of August in 2015, it would provide an effective and engaging set of stories for the readers to immerse themselves in.

Following the near destruction of Earth, a select few head off into space with the intention of inhabiting a far off planet. Looking to create ‘New Eden’, ten families with a high amount of power and wealth are looking to escape to the stars, as they focus all their resources on making it happen. Heading out they do indeed find a new planet to inhabit, the only problem is that another race is apparently already living there. Set in 2094, Solomon Reach and his crew are all set to leave Earth, but that is when he discovers a betrayal that will have disastrous consequences. How will he decide who lives and who dies? Can they live alongside this new alien race with intriguing abilities? What will become of their Paradisi escape?

The Paradisi Chronicles

With so much room to manoeuvre within the series, it’s easy to see why this has become such a successful franchise. Featuring a whole host of different themes and ideas, it works as an entirely collaborative effort, bringing people together through one singular narrative arc. Over the course of the series it’s constantly evolving as well, ultimately allowing readers to find something new each and every time. This means that all sorts of different readers from a whole variety of backgrounds will find something to appreciate in the series overall. That means there’s plenty more room to keep expanding for some time yet, with a lot more to follow for many years to come.
