Each and every book in this series features a different set of primary characters, whose love stories are described as taking place in suspenseful circumstances. The characters go on to cherish their love lives in the end, but not without going through numerous hardships and life threatening risks. The debut book of this romantic suspense series is entitled ‘Shadows of the Past’. It was released by the Revell publication in the year 2014. The central characters that form the plot of this book include Taylor Martin and Nick Sinclair. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Taylor Martin is a criminal profiler and psychology professor. She takes a lot of pride in herself for having the ability to solve crimes taking place in the city. However, the one case that she has not been able to solve so far and desperately wants to get done with is the mysterious disappearance of her dad around 20 years ago. Finally, Taylor Martin gets an important lead on the case and it forces her to return to her home located in Logan Point, Mississippi. She starts investigating by following the lead. While trying to uncover the truth about her father’s vanishing, Taylor realizes that she is being stalked by someone. Nick Sinclair is introduced into the story as a writer who pens mystery books to earn his living. But, he faces the mystery in his own life as he is not able to forget about his wife’s death. He always thinks that he could have avoided such a big tragedy from happening in his life. Now, the only family left with him his younger brother. But, he too has vanished and Nick Sinclair makes desperate attempts to find about his whereabouts. His search for his brother makes Nick cross paths with Martin. This results in more troubles and difficulties for both of them. Soon, they realize that their work can become easier if they join hands and begin supporting each other in their search. And when they start doing so, they search moves ahead smoothly and with much less difficulty.
Another popular book of the suspenseful series is called ‘A Promise to Protect’. Author Bradley has mentioned the chief characters in this novel as Ben Logan, Tony, and Leigh Somerall. The book was released in the year 2014 by the Fleming Revell Company. At the beginning of the novel, Ben Logan is depicted as an Acting Sheriff of Logan Point. He has not heard from or seen Leigh Somerall for very long. Ben seems unable to get the whirlwind romance that he shared with Leigh Somerall 10 years back or even her out from his head. One day, Ben Logan receives a call from Leigh, which seems very shocking to him. He learns that Leigh’s brother Tony is in some kind of trouble and she wants Ben to help him out. However, Tony is found dead after a few days and this shocks everyone, including Ben Logan. He realizes that the killers would try to kill Leigh Somerall and her 10 year old son. So, he makes sure that they remain in front of his eyes all the time, so as to ensure their safety. But, the fact that Leigh does everything possible to avoid him disheartens Ben a little bit. But, he doesn’t want to take chances with Leigh’s safety. He hopes that one day she will realize that his love for her was real. Overall, the book filled with a lot of intrigue and suspense. The element of romance only adds to the excitement of the story.
