Patricia Davids
Author Patricia Davids grew up with four brothers in Kansas on a farm, with many dogs and three horses. Not surprisingly, she was something of a tomboy. Fishing down at the creek, 4-H, and softball were just a few of her favorite pastimes, however nothing held her interest nearly as much as a good book. She wound up devouring each and every novel that she was able to get her hands on.

She attended high school in Chapman, Kansas, and left her family’s farm in the year 1970 in order to attend Kansas State University at Manhattan Kansas to prepare for her chosen career in nursing.

After finishing college, she started a wonderful career as a nurse. In the year 1973, Pat penned a letter to a lonely sailor. Little did she know at the time her talent with words would bring her motherhood, love, and marriage.

After she and her husband got married, Pat moved even further from the farm, and to the naval town of Groton, Connecticut. One short year later, Pat was blessed with the birth of a daughter. Pat’s life as the wife of a sailor provided her with some wonderful memories and many trials. The couple moved back to Wichita, Kansas after her husband left the service where they both started to work in the medical profession. Her husband worked in the x-ray department and Pat worked with premature babies in the NICU.

Pat, who is an avid reader, had always longed to write a book, but put her dream on hold in order to work in an NICU while raising a family. It wasn’t until the year 1996 that she started writing seriously. Today, she enjoys creating emotionally satisfying romances where faith and love bring two people together forever.

The same year her daughter began junior high, the family moved to a modest home in Zyba, Kansas on the banks of the Ninneescah River. Pat once more had enough room for a horse and some fantastic fishing right outside of her back door.

During the late eighties, she and her husband became archery enthusiasts traveling all around Kansas and the neighboring states in order to compete in 3-D archery tournaments. They won the women’s and men’s outdoor state championship during the same year. Pat was even able to do some hunting with her bow. Her time in Zyba were among some of the highlights of her whole life, according to Pat.

Patricia writes the “Brides of Amish County”, the “Mounted Color Guard” series, the “Amish Bachelors” series, and “North Country Amish” series, as well as some stand alone novels. Her debut novel, called “His Bundle of Love”, was released in the year 2005. Her work is from the romance and inspirational genres.

“The Wish” is the first novel in the “Amish of Cedar Grove” series, and was released in the year 2019. Second chances come at the most unexpected of times.

Laura Beth Yoder, a widow, longs for a family of her own. So much so that she is getting ready to leave the sleepy Amish town that she calls home to find love. A horrible storm washes the creek out, forcing her to wade right in and save the life of an English guy and his cut infant son. While they recover at the farm, the child brings joy and sunshine, as the handsome outsider is filled with secrets and shadows.

Joshua King owes his entire life as well as his child’s to Laura Beth. Lingering at her farm is out of the question, still. He has to fulfill a promise that he made to his estranged wife while on her deathbed: to take their son to his Amish in-laws. Joshua has got no other choice, with his dark past. However his plans never took this surprising and sweet Amish widow into account. She may be his second chance at both happiness and love.

“The Hope” is the second novel in the “Amish of Cedar Grove” series, and was released in the year 2019. He never imagined he would ever settle down, until he found home.

Ruth Mast, an Amish widow, wants nothing to do with the handsome guy from her past who just came back to Cedar Grove. Ruth has already learned the hard way that Owen Mast’s restlessness always creates trouble. A little Amish girl shows up on Owen’s porch, afraid and lost, and Ruth has no other option but to help the guy who just causes heartbreak.

All Owen ever wanted was to just make amends with Ruth and the rest of her family. He never thought the little girl Grace, or the odd mystery that surrounds her, would bring him even closer to Ruth. Or that one unexpected and tender attraction would quickly take a hold of both of them. However, even a wandering heart can grow some roots, when there is hope for love.

“The Promise” is the third novel in the “Amish of Cedar Grove” series, and was released in the year 2020. Sometimes love is where you really least expect it.

Sarah Yoder always dreamed of having a family all her own. Without any eligible prospects, she has started worrying, until the Rabor brothers come back to Cedar Grove. Isaac Rabor and Sarah walked together during the summer they were both sixteen years old, so maybe he is the one. If only she had some help in catching the man’s eye.

Levi Rabor has got zero interest in getting married. His mom reveals her plans to deed the family farm to the first son that gets married and Levi quickly has a plan to ensure it isn’t him. A pretend courtship with Sarah to push his competitive brother into her direction. Then Levi will be free to leave town in order to train a racehorse, just like he really wanted. Then why does Sarah, with her visions of a happy and peaceful life on the land, actually make his heart gallop? Maybe the answer lies in the promise of how surprisingly sweet love can be sometimes.
