Lilah Fallon is a woman of misfortunes; she has been bouncing from one job to another ever since a left a comfortable position at a company owned by her father. Killer Caramel Cookie is a brilliant cozy mystery and an excellent start to Killer Cookies series by Patti Benning. Lilah the main character is beautifully woven, she has faithful neighbors, friends, and bosses and lucky for her she has an inborn talent for creating cookies.

Gourmet Holiday Murder

Eleanora Pacelli is happy to be the rightful owner of Papa Pacelli’s Pizzeria finally. She is satisfied that she will have to make several changes to the pizzeria, and she hires a contractor to help her install a pickup window.

With Christmas just around the corner, Ellie’s focus is split between preparing for the holidays and her constructions plans. The giant tree just in front of her house is begging to be decorated; she also requires purchasing gifts for all the people who form her extended family.

Unfortunately, her holiday cheers come to an abrupt stop after a brutal murder happens at the construction scene. Pacelli’s plans for expansion, as well as Christmas, come to a standstill as she and her friend Russell race against time to find the killer before more people fall victims to the killer. What she is bound to find out will shock her to the core as the killer is much closer than she ever imagined.

When Pacelli learns about a local charity dedicated to supplying blankets, clothes, and food to those in need, she jumps in to get involved in the community and also create a positive publicity for her local cafeteria.

However, tragedy soon strikes the local community when Ellie is giving out a donation and soon finds herself caught up in a case that is clouded by mystery. With her boyfriend, Sheriff Russell out of commission from a gunshot Ellie will have to heavily rely on her skills and abilities to find out the whole truth about the victims mysterious death and also before more bodies start piling up.

A Quiche to Die for

After spending good times with her husband in Europe on a honeymoon trip, Moira Darling is back to her healthy life. Her life is running pretty smooth at Darling’s Delicious Delights, and her home life is much happier than ever. To add to her delight- she has a wedding to plan- her daughter’s wedding.

Unfortunately for Moira, reality comes crashing down on her when her shop is robbed at gunpoint. The perpetrator manages to escape with a pile of money and some of Moira’s prized possessions. David, Moira’s husband, takes the case immediately driven by the need to help his wife and keep her safe. The robber strikes again, but this time they murder someone so close to Moira. Moira jumps in to investigate the murder case despite receiving warnings from her beloved husband. Will she find the murderer before tragedy strikes again? A Quiche to Die for is a brilliant installment in Darling Deli series by Patti Benning. The story is fast-paced; there are lots of twists and turns that will keep the readers turning pages. Benning characterization is brilliantly done, for example, Moira amateur sleuthing skills are brilliant, and she is a strong woman, courageous and determined to find the killer before more people fall prey to his tricks.

Curried Lobster Murder

Moira Darling is surprised when manages to win a free cruise trip and also gets a chance to participate in a cooking competition. On her free voyage trip, she is accompanied by her daughter, high spirited and eager to win the $10,000 grand prize and make her cafeteria shine to glory. Unfortunately, Moira’s enthusiasm is soon torn apart when one of the contest participants dies under some mysterious circumstances. Then moments later, other contestants all begin to fall ill, strange accidents are reported, and soon Moira is convinced that someone on the ship is prepared to do whatever it takes to maintain the victory during the competition. Will she be able to find out the killer within?

Grilled Rye Murder

With her wedding just around the corner, Moira Darling is busy getting the final preparations in place. Thanks to some new employees everything at Deli is going on smoothly that she ever expected and when she is about to tune to a relaxation mode, she stumbles upon the body of a colleague who has been brutally murdered. Things get worse when she becomes a prime suspect in the murder, and she is subsequently jailed halting most of her wedding plans.

Fortunately, she gets bailed out of jail by a mysterious person, and soon Moira finds herself faced with two mysteries to solve one to find the person who killed her friend and secondly find the person who bailed her out of jail. Could the killer be the bailer?
