Paul B. Skousen
Paul B. Skousen, a son of W. Cleon Skousen, is an author, instructor on the United States Constitution, college professor, and journalist. He got his Master’s degree in National Security Studies from Georgetown University and his undergrad from BYU in Journalism.

Paul, after grad school, worked for Ronald Reagan in the White House Situation Room. Additionally, he was an intelligence officer for the CIA. He gained national notoriety when he preserved a huge bag of shredded top secret documents, the “smoking gun” from the Iran-Contra Affair, which he sold off piecemeal as “shredded secrets from the White House”. This odd story was covered by Paul Harvey and some other media outlets.

He has extensive experience interviewing military and political leaders in Israel, Jordan, and Egypt, including the political advisor to Egypt’s President Mubarak, the ex-prime minister of Jordan, and some senior generals in the Israeli military.

Paul has also served as a ghost writer for Glenn Beck, a columnist for The Daily Caller, and teaches journalism and communications at Salt Lake Community College and Utah Valley University.

He and the former Kathy Bradshaw (his wife) are the parents of ten kids.

“The Naked Socialist” is a non-fiction book that was released in the year 2012. This is the real story of socialism. In this book, Paul strips all of the false hopes, fakery, meaningless promises, and the hollow dreams that socialists have been foisting onto millions for thousands of years now. He explains what exactly socialism is, how it works, where it came from, why it always destroys its host nation.

It exposes socialism’s track record which began over six thousand years prior, and follows it up to today, providing proof of its predictable failure to protect, create, and innovate.

The book fulfills the urgent need to answer questions like: Was Obama the first socialist president? What is socialism exactly and why does it ruin everything that it touches eventually? What are some great examples of socialism in action today? Which US presidents socialized America? How does socialism hurt nations all around the globe? Find the answers to these questions, as well as others, along with what it is going to take to fix America’s issues in these pages.

This book provides a whole new point of view on socialism. Paul clearly lays out the progression of Socialism and the lethal collapses of societies.

“Basam and the Seven Secret Scrolls” is the first novel in the “Basam” series that was released in the year 2014. The ancient Chronicles talk about a powerful sheik back in Arabia that carved up the first caves int the mysterious canyon city known as Rekeem. Before he died, he hid there among these caves his secrets to power, wealth, and prosperity, which he wrote onto seven different scrolls.

For three centuries now, which is a long time for gossip to make giants, some men came around trying to find the secrets but didn’t find anything except for rumors. Tall promises which the scrolls had escaped from the caves and got sent forth to serve those that held them, granting them the untold riches and powers. Thus all the traders and camel caravans passed between the high deserts was always suspect for their good fortunes. Others that watched with greed from far away wondered aloud in their hushed voices about whether or not they bore the burden of the scrolls.

After one thousand years, the final holder of the scrolls, one elderly chief of the Abdali-ud-din, a traveled and wise leader called Zafir, was forced to pass on the secrets down to his heir. Having no son of his own, he extended to Bassam (age seventeen) the invitation to depart from his home, friends, and beloved Rasha, to join the old man on his two her journey across the continent to prove himself worth, and finally unlock that timeless mystery buried inside the Seven Secret Scrolls. Then, what came all of a sudden changed it all.

Paul is very descriptive and vivid in the novel and it is clear that he did extensive research in order to write this novel. As a reader you feel like you could actually be in this world, and the plot line is incredibly plausible.

“Zafir and the Seventh Scroll” is the second novel in the “Basam” series that was released in the year 2016. For those familiar with Bassam’s adventures so far with the Seven Secret Scrolls, this is going to be a much anticipated continuation of this brave young man’s tale and his adventures as a traveling merchant. Those that are new to the tale are going to find Bassam and his travels in the Far East of a long time ago no less than fascinating for its historical details, as well as for Bassam’s exploits and experiences.

This is an engaging and old-fashioned adventure tale, and is going to take you off to lands far away in place and time, while Bassam gets called on to grow from a boy into a young man. The tale continues while Bassam goes and rejoins his caravan, just to find Zafir gravely wounded and facing death. Is Bassam going to be able to get him the help that he requires, and is he ever going to learn what’s in the seventh secret scroll, so that he can complete his education and become the upstanding young leader that Zafir sees in him?

Join Bassam on his travels to C’ina and beyond and see the world through this young man’s eyes. Get a glimpse of how exactly people worked and lived in this long ago world, what kinds of tools they used and the foods that they would eat. Look at the Great Wall of China as it is being built, visit the eateries and marketplaces, and sail the oceans in the Far East. Learn all about leadership with Bassam, while Zafir shows him that some people make the world a richer and better place, as others use their great power to make it a worse one, and teaches him how he can steer his own ship true and strong.
