Pemulwuy Weeatunga is an author of a variety of books available in print and digital form. He is an Aboriginal Australian who is now retired. He enjoys writing and says that one of his primary motivations for writing Aboriginal fiction is to help encourage Australian ATSI young people both to write and to read. He currently resides in the far north area of Queensland.
Pemulwuy Weeatunga is the creator and writer of the Fethafoot Chronicles. This series started with the publication of the first novel in the story, titled Nyarla and the Circle of Stones. The book was first published December 10th in 2014. The sequel came quickly after, which is titled Guluya and the Lake Mungo Mystery. There are several more books in this series, from the third book The Contest and continuing onward.
Nyarla and the Circle of Stones is the exciting first new book in Weeatunga’s Fethafoot Chronicles. If you’ve always wanted to dive into a detailed world of information concerning Aboriginal Australia, this is the book for you.
Pemulwuy Weeatunga is the author of this interesting story that takes the readers back through time to a place that existed long ago. Here we get to meet the mysterious Fethafoot Clan and their warriors. The narrator says that for fifty thousand years of history, his clan has successfully navigated their problems with the Australian Heart-rock people and solved them together. Now the reader can explore the stories that they have never before had access to.
Skillfully introducing the reader to a topic they know nothing about, Weeatunga guides readers through an entire world of the Indigenous Australians– from the history, the beginnings, the culture and the relationship that these peoples have with their ancestors and with the land.
An educational reader, Weeatunga explains that in their home of Australia, the clan’s name and what they do have been kept out of the knowledge and history of the public. He says that this is the way that the Clan works and in order for them to do what they do, they need things to be secret. This is to protect their work and the people.
He says that his people have a long oral history but for a unique first time, there is the chance to reveal much of the history of their enigmatic Clan to other Australian people and the ones that also call this place their home as well as to the rest of the world too.
People that were born in Australia and grew up there may have even picked up bits and pieces of lore here and there. Perhaps you heard about Kadaicha, as the Clan named themselves a long time ago. Or perhaps you have heard about the Aboriginal magic man. This clan calls themselves the Fethafoot.
Check out this book and you will have access to ten tales that will be able to inform you more about the history of a people that were here long before any other settlers came. Learn about the wisdom of the elder warriors of the clan and how advanced they truly were when it comes to spiritual travel. They instead chose to use the creation lines, ancient Dreamtime lines that ran across the countries in order to move quickly over the lands.
This is why these people came to be known as the Fethafoot. They were able to travel swiftly and were half spirit beings and half man that could come and could go as they please. When they were gone, there would be absolutely no sign that they had ever been there.
This interesting and informative first book in Weeatunga’s Fethafoot Chronicles is definitely worth a read. No matter whether you are from the land down under or just interested in the history and the people there, check out this book and see what you think!
Guluya and the Lake Mungo Mystery is the second book in the Fethafoot Chronicles by Weeatunga. If you loved the first novel in this series of Australian Aboriginal story telling, then you will definitely want to keep the trend going by picking up the next installment of this cool series.
Pemulwuy Weeatunga brings the world of Aboriginal Australia to life and makes you feel as if you are understanding everything so clearly about the day to day goings on of the early Australians. Four Australians meeting a long time ago and their lives being lived together forms a puzzle in archaeology that exists to this day.
What was the land like back then all those years ago? For one thing, mega-fauna existed. Animals that were larger than life roamed the lands and were large versions of the animals that we see today. Giant wombats waddled, while ducks the sizes of Emu ran around, large marsupial Tapirs and lions, and kangaroo that reached up to four meters tall were all there, all thanks to a climate that was totally different from the one we have today.
The Earth is starting to warm up again and the climate is changing. Enter into the picture a humble warrior for the Fethafoot clan named Mudjeri. He is not alone as he has the love of his life, his soul mate Ngari. She will one day sacrifice herself to save the life of her loved one’s best friend.
Even though this love story set by the stars is not to work out, things must go on. Enter into the picture the Slayer, a man named Gurindji. He is someone that cannot be happy for others and allows envy to control him. When people are jealous and they have green eyes all the time and are aggressive, you know that they will stoop to any means to get what they want.
Such is the case with this man. The rumblings of trouble are upon them. Can this couple make it to the end or are they doomed? Full of cool wild animals and Australian history and folklore, you have got to check out this very cool book from Pemulwuy Weeatunga. Check out the Guluya and the Lake Mungo Mystery and see what happens for yourself!
