Penny Jordan is an English author. This is a pen name used by Penelope Jones Halsall. She also used the pseudonyms of Melinda Wright, Lydia Hitchcock, Annie Groves, and Caroline Courtney.

Penny was born November 24, 1946. She was born in Preston in Lancashire, England. She was the child of Margaret and Anthony Jones, who worked as an engineer. She had two siblings, a brother and a sister named Anthony and Prudence. Married to Steve Halsall, the author passed away in 2011.

The author was into reading ever since she was young. Her mother would give her the time to explore the library on her own. She would say that she told stories long before she chose to write fiction in the romantic genre! At 8 years old, Jordan was coming up with her own stories for bedtime for her younger sister.

When she was eleven years old, the writer loved Mills & Boon and their heroes. Back then, you could only get the books by libraries that would privately lend them. She was a huge fan and was devoted to the series quickly after reading her first few books. She was very happy when shops put the books out for retail full sale and she and many other readers got the chance to have these books and hold onto them!

When she was alive, she lived in Nantwich, Cheshire. She had a beautiful neo-Georgian home and lived there with her cat and Alsatian Sheba. Penny worked at home and liked in particular to work in the kitchen, where she could get things done and still enjoy the company of her pets. She also would take interruptions whenever they happened as a welcome intrusion from her family as well as her close friends.

Penny Jordan is the creator and author of the Bride’s Bouquet series of novels. The series kicked off in 1996, when the first novel in the series came out. Woman to Wed? is the first book in this romance series. It was quickly followed by a sequel and a third book turned the series into a trilogy.
