Author Agatha Frost writes the “Peridale Cafe Cozy Mystery” series. The series began publication in the year 2017, when “Pancakes and Corpses” was released.

The books are light cozy mysteries with a cafe owning, cat loving female amateur sleuth, named Julia South, that is set in a tiny village called Peridale. The books are written in British English, and have no swearing, cliffhangers, graphic scenes, or gore.

“Pancakes and Corpses” is the first novel in the “Peridale Cafe Cozy Mystery” series and was released in the year 2017. Julia South, who will shortly be divorced, never thought she would be caught up in solving a murder, until she found the body of the most awkward customer of her cafe.

With one new smug Detective Inspector in town that underestimates every single move she makes, Julia makes it a mission to find the real killer. And she must accomplish it before her village friends get dragged into the frame, and even more bodies are found.

Fans of the novel found this to be a nice mystery with the right amount of romance to spice things up enough. The investigation is developed superbly over the course of the book.

“Lemonade and Lies” is the second novel in the “Peridale Cafe Cozy Mystery” series and was released in the year 2017. The entire village is invited to a garden party for some mysterious ‘special announcement’, no one expects the party will end with a guy being thrown to his death out of a window. The murder occurs at Julia’s estranged dad’s manor, so all the eyes in Peridale turn toward her to solve this case.

In a race against time, Julia has to juggle her blooming romance with Detective Inspector Brown, and the sudden odd behavior of her young lodger, named Jessie, to find the truth behind the man’s untimely death. Some her family members are in the frame, it raises the question: is Julia going to like what she finds?

“Doughnuts and Deception” is the third novel in the “Peridale Cafe Cozy Mystery” series and was released in the year 2017. Julia never expected to get caught in another murder investigation. However, when she finds out that homeless people are dying under suspicious circumstances and the cops aren’t investigating it, she is unable to sit back and do nothing.

After she promises Jessie, her young lodger, that she is going to do all she can to help, she finds herself diving into the case headfirst, helped out by Barker, her new Detective Inspector boyfriend.

Sure there’s a serial killer out there preying on some of the vulnerable residents of the old burnout warehouse, Julia has to act fast to get to the bottom of this mystery. Will she be able to crack this case before more bodies are turned up?

“Chocolate Cake and Chaos” is the fourth novel in the “Peridale Cafe Cozy Mystery” series and was released in the year 2017. A funeral wreath is sent to Barker’s cottage. Could it be a prank, or is it a grim warning? Julia’s fears that someone is attempting to kill Barker are confirmed when a corpse with a striking resemblance to him is discovered on his doorstep the next day, right when their romance is starting to deepen.

Barker might be on a temporary suspension from his Detective Inspector job at the village police station, however, that doesn’t mean that he is short of enemies in Peridale. Particularly when one dark face from his past shows up in the tiny village to start stirring up some old painful memories. With an unclear list of motives and suspects, she vows to keep Barker safe, however can they figure out the puzzle while working outside of the law in this race against time to keep Barker from paying the ultimate price?

“Shortbread and Sorrow” is the fifth novel in the “Peridale Cafe Cozy Mystery” series and was released in the year 2017. When Dot, Julia’s gran, wins an all-inclusive spa trip to Scotland, Julia finds that it is difficult to refuse the offer of spending one relaxing week away from her cafe. Along with Sue, her sister, they pack up her small vintage car and drive all the way to Seirbigh Castle, prepared to be pampered.

The very last thing that Julia expected was to get caught up in yet another murder case, but when the family run spa’s cruel owner, Henry McLaughlin, gets shot dead, she cannot resit ditching the massages and facemasks to try and crack the case.

Julia soon befriends the talented baker and the young cook, Blair, and gets a job in the kitchen in order to observe the odd family in the wake of the murder. Henry’s kids and wife act suspicious. And with the incompetent young Detective Inspector working the case, Julia makes it her mission to uncover the secrets that are held in the ancient walls before Seirbigh Castle can claim anymore victims.

“Espresso and Evil” is the sixth novel in the “Peridale Cafe Cozy Mystery” series and was released in the year 2017. A coffee shop opens up in the village, Julia is rather surprised when her customers begin flocking to this new establishment. It leaves her cafe close to empty. One failed protest against this new corporate chain store leaves Julia wondering if her cafe is going to be able to survive. However she quickly has larger fish to fry once the coffee shop’s owner is poisoned and she is framed for the guy’s murder.

While Julia tries clearing her own name, she gets stopped dead in her tracks once an unwanted familiar face shows up in Peridale. Her present and her past crash together, which threatens to jeopardize her new relationship with Barker. Julia’s history has returned to haunt her, and she has to deal with some of the consequences of her actions before time runs out. Someone’s trying to frame Julia for the murder of her rival. However, will she juggle this most complex case yet with her complicated love life before she loses more than her cafe?

   I am trying to locate: “Banana Bread and Betrayal” peridale cafe cozy mystery book #7 by agatha frost and cannot locate it

     She actually just made a Facebook post yesterday saying it isn’t ready for release yet, so has been pulled temporarily.
