Born on the 28th of June 1947, Peter Abrahams is a writer specializing in writing about crime thrillers. Abrahams states that he was born at the day and age when the last wholly mammoths were still walking on the earth. The story about how he began writing wasn’t just a simple discovery of talent and great story telling abilities or an episode of him reading a book and realizing ‘yep, I can definitely beat that!”. In fact, he attributes his writing success mostly to his mother. His mother discovered that her son could write one day when his preschool teacher told her of a story Abrahams had written about how their teacher took them to a make believe walk on a rainy day. Coming to a puddle he teacher asks the children to walk slowly around it so they do not get muddy. Unlike the rest of the class, Abrahams decides to walk right through the puddle. When the teacher tries to caution his behavior, he replies that he is not in the least worried about the muddy water nor the wetness he might get because unlike all the others he was wearing boots. With this, his mother was intent on making him a wrier because she knew that would probably never have succeeded at anything else. Many fans will agree that his mother was right, where else would they have found stories like his and with his level of transition from childhood teenage stories to adult stories?

Peter Abrahams is not just a writer, he is a family man as well. He takes pride is being able to raise four children he if very fond of. He married the love of his life, a teacher, Diana Gray in 1978 with who he has had the joy of having four children; two boys and two girls. Although is a great writer and has had great accomplishments in the field, he states that his greatest accomplishment so far is his family. He states that having children and a family has somewhat made his writing career evolve because he is now more intent on making his stories feel more real and engaging. Peter Abrahams enjoys doing physical things like walking and playing with his dog, Chet when he is no writing. He is a believer of having fun and learning to live life one step at a time. According to him, his ability to overthink things is perhaps his worst quality yet.

After he graduated from the University with his degree, Abrahams worked as a spear fisher in the Bahamas between the years 1968 to 1970 before he went to work for the Canadian broadcasting corporation in Toronto, Ontario as a radio producer. Because, perhaps, of this career as a spear fisher, he enjoys going spear fishing, busking in the sun and playing tennis when he is on vacations. He enjoys reading a lot of things but mostly enjoys books with a lot of adventure such as pirate sores and stories of people hacking deep through the jungle.

He has written more than 22 novels, 17 of which are crime fiction based novels. He was nominated as Edgar best- novel nominee for his books, the fan, oblivion and end of story. Amongst his best- selling books, he has had one, the fan made into a movie by Robert DeNiro. His is amongst his greatest achievements as a novelist, not many novels are chosen and made into movies especially today when movie producers can write their own scripts. Stephen King named Peter Abrahams as one of his favorite and greatest suspense novelist and even compared him to some mystery novelists who have had their time and a great share of success in writing such as Diehi, Gitchcock and Grisham.

Although most of his books are adult novels and have had a great share of fans, he has still found a way to transition into entertaining young readers as well and finds it extremely gratifying. His echo falls mystery series have featuredseverally on New York Times best sellers. This series has three books down the rabbit hole, behind the curtains and into the dark. This series is about a 13- year- old girl named Ingrid who is a super seuth and the main character in the series who finds that her home is threatenedby many different issues in which she has to rescue her people. In the first book, down the rabbit hole, she finds herself in h wrong place at the wrong time and loses her shoe. To be able to get back her shoes, she will have to get tangled up in an investigation of a murder which she finds is just as complicated as those solved by her all time favorite detective Sherlock Holmes. Her responsibilities overwhelm her as she is also to play Alice in wonderland, has soccer practice to got to ands is still looking for the murderer. She however realizes that she needs to solve the murder mystery on her own before it is too late. Because of its creativity and ability to capture he audience, remain relevant and still be relatable, I god he best children/ young adult fiction Agatha award in 2005 and was used as in battle of the books in 2008- 2009.

In the next book in this series, behind the curtain, Ingrid is shown living in a very normal town doing ordinary everyday activities of a thirteen year old girls. However strange things begin to happen when he finds out her father has been looking at jobs.Com and has become more temperamental. Her brother has also very freaked out by strange pimples appearing on his back and her soccer couch had been replaced by an old couch. It gets even stranger when she gets kidnapped but escapes. She does not know who tried to kidnap her or why and finds herself, throughout the book in scary and mysteries situations. These series are extremely solid in the type of mysteries they present and create a scenario where the young adult audience can relate and be thrilled. They can also learn a thing or two about how to solve mysteries of their own.

First off I love Bernie and Chet ad your writing! Chet is so doggie. I think a dog’s love is like the love of God. I bet God has fur and a tail when He wants.
I am a romance writer, writing my Cape Cod story and I see you live in Cape Cod. What’s the weather like in Truro (where I stay at Kalmar Village) at Christmas? I’ve heard there is a lobster trap Christmas tree. Are there any other Christmas traditions? I’ve heard Chatham has Santa arriving on a lobster boat. No doubt you can see my next tale is about Cape Cod Christmas where my characters Christmas wishes are hopefully fulfilled.
    Like I said,”Good jb, boy!!”
