Peter Riva
Author Peter Riva was a pure math major in college but went to UCLA Film School later on. Then he went to the BBC as an Apprentice.

Peter was the producer and creator of over 78 hours of primetime wildlife television, and spent a lot of time in East Africa as well as parts of Central and North Africa. He’s also co-founded a film history museum, and was the program manager for the first global circumnavigation atmospheric flight (Voyager, 1986).

He’s worked for over thirty years with the leaders in space exploration and aerospace and environmental causes with the USA, UN, and USSR. He’s also helped create and manage several international historic events, the memorabilia for which are permanently displayed in national institutions located in France, Germany, and America and being on tour internationally.

His day time job has been a literary agent for forty plus years. He was born and raised in New York City, Switzerland, and London, he moved some years ago and love where he lives now best: Gila, New Mexico.

Peter’s debut novel, called “A Tribal Rumble”, was released in the year 2009. His work is from the science fiction, thriller, and mystery genres. He has written the “Mbuno and Pero” series and the “Tag” series.

“The Path” is the first novel in the “Tag” series and was released in the year 2015. Life’s good in the New Republic of America. In fact, things are perfect. Thanks to this supercomputer called the System that controls everything from the production of food to the weather, people’s basic needs are met. Too bad a man called Simon Banks is close to breaking everything.

Banks is an intelligent codifier whose job is to design glitches in this virtual duplicate of the System. However when glitches show up in the real System, Banks finds a hidden intelligence that threatens humanity’s course. Even more horrifying is the realization that everything that he knows to be the truth is in fact a lie.

Banks finds he is in the preposterous position of actually saving the world. And frankly, even with the aid of some of his friends, his chances are really slim.

“Murder on Safari” is the first novel in the “Mbuno & Pero” series and was released in the year 2015. Only an expert safari guide and a reality TV producer can thwart a terrorist attack.

Every adventure begins at the fringes of civilization. For Mbuno, expert safari guide, and Pero Baltazar, wildlife TV producer, filming in the wild of East Africa should’ve been a return to the adventure they always loved. This time they would be filming some soaring vultures in northern Kenya and giant sea crocodiles in Tansania with the world’s top television evangelist, the reverend Jimmy Threte’s daughter, named Mary.

However when a terrorist cell places both of them in the crosshairs, there is no escape all of a sudden and they have to put their filming on hold. They must combine their personal talents to stop an all-out al-Shabaab terrorist attack on Jimmy Threte’s Christian gathering of hundreds of thousands in Nairobi, Kenya.

Pero has a secret, he has been working as a clandestine courier for the US State Department for many years. Which is a problem. If anybody should happen to find out, it might get them all killed.

This is a fast-paced thriller that is filled with great suspense and a bunch of action. It is loaded with twists and turns that leave you guessing and unable to put the book down.

“The Berlin Package” is the second novel in the “Mbuno & Pero” series and was released in the year 2016. A handsome star, a film producer, and one African safari guide have to race to protect themselves and the rest of the world from a terrorist nuclear trade.

Pero Baltazar believed he was just taking a Berlin filming assignment. He needed the work, and needed to just get back in the saddle after fighting off this life-threatening experience back in East Africa- al-Shabaab attacked his crew, intent on a much bigger terrorist attack. All of a sudden he finds himself under orders from his part-time employers at the CIA and the State Department when he’s handed this mysterious package. It is an assignment he doesn’t want at all. The trouble is, it is a job that’s contracted by some mysterious patrons that are ready to kill him if he doesn’t get results.

Pero, who’s now in way too deep, turns to friends, both new and old, to help him figure out the mystery of this package, and uncover links to Nazi concentration camp gold that was recently sold by the US Treasury. He also has to stop the ex-Stasi chief, now the head of a powerful banking group.

Pero calls on Mbuno to anticipate his enemies’ moves as if they were animals, dangerous vermin, who’ve kidnapped both the film’s director and star. Mbuno’s tracking abilities might keep them from getting murdered. This is provided Pero’s able to rope in more aid and keep the CIA away.

“Kidnapped on Safari” is the third novel in the “Mbuno & Pero” series and was released in the year 2020. Mbuno and Pero Baltazar are filming on Lake Rudolf in Northern Kenya, East Africa, when they get news that Mbuno’s son, who is himself an expert guide, has just been kidnapped while he was on a safari five hundred miles away in Tanzania.

After gathering all the resources and clues required to trek through the wilderness, they track the kidnappers back to an illegal logging operation clear-cutting national park forests which is manned by Boko Haram mercenaries. There, they discover not only Mbuno’s son but a shocking revelation that has far-reaching and terrifying consequences.

Relying on Mbuno’s own legendary bush skills, the duo have to overcome the danger from both outside and inside the camp in order to bring Mbuno’s son out alive. In doing so, Pero and Mbuno find that deforestation and kidnapping are just the start of the terrorist group’s aspirations, and they realize that a threat would herald a much more dangerous outcome for Tanzania. A coup. A rescue may just risk the region’s whole stability.
