Rebecca Winters is an American author born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1940. Winters writes romance and has been recognized for her efforts on a number of occasions.

+Biography

Rebecca Winters was born to John Zimmerman Brown and Kathryn Ormsby Hyde. One of Rebecca’s most transformative moments was when she went to boarding School in Switzerland at the age of 17.

The action put Rebecca on a whole new path. Not only did she mingle with girls from all over the planet but she also learned to speak French. That only sparked her interest in languages as a whole.

Despite the renown she would eventually garner as an author, writing was the farthest thing from Rebecca Winters’ mind. Instead, Rebecca continued to pursue her love for languages at the University of Utah where she studied History, French and Spanish, eventually acquiring her degree in Secondary Education.

More than merely studying languages, Rebecca wanted to be a teacher and that is exactly what she did. Opportunities were availed for her to teach French and history in junior high and high school.

That should have been the end of her story, at least with regards to her career. She could have continued teaching until she either retired or simply died. However, she instead veered off the beaten path and took a chance on writing.

That particular career change came as a surprise for Rebecca Winters because she had no interest in writing. She didn’t merely harbor a disinterest in writing novels. Rather, Rebecca never liked writing anything, not even the papers she had to write for school.

So, naturally, she had never, in her wildest dreams, considered the possibility of writing professionally. As such, she often says that she had to come through the back door in order to kick start her writing career.

It all began in Switzerland when Rebecca was 17. While in boarding school, Rebecca endeavored to write letters to her parents. Her mother kept everything she wrote, eventually sending the letters back to Rebecca when she finally had her second child.

Her mother’s wish was for Rebecca to read the old letters and write her memories from them. Rebecca wasn’t too keen on the idea. But she sought to please her mother and, thus, proceeded with the task.

Sorting through the thoughts and observations of her teenage mind took time. And as she read everything she had written in the letters, a story began to take shape. And that story couldn’t stay hidden for long, eventually becoming ‘The Lovin Season’, a novel that Rebecca Winters wrote and published in 1979.

The novel, whose story was set in Switzerland and France, was written under the pseudonym of Rebecca Burton, just one of Rebecca’s pseudonyms. Finishing and publishing her first novel did little to quench Rebecca’s desire for storytelling and she soon wrote another novel, a romantic tale set in the Second World War.

She eventually followed that story up with another novel set in Kenya. Since 1979, Rebecca Winters has continued to consistently churn novels out, and her efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Some of the awards she has won over the years include the National Readers’ Choice award and the Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice Award.

Rebecca loves Europe and many of her novels are set in that part of the world. she thinks the landscapes are gorgeous and the people have beautiful languages, not to mention amazing history and culture.

Rebecca Winters has four children.

+The Vow

Nick Marsden finds himself in very deep trouble. When a Montana Blizzard brings his plane crashing to the ground, the only thing Nick has on his person is a notepad and a pen.

Staying alive quickly proves a challenge, and Nick turns to his memories as his only companions. He recalls the way he met his wife, their days in high school and the stormy courtship that followed.

There friends and family always disproved and they did not work nearly as hard to stay together, especially in light of a loss for which Nich believes he is to blame. With the odds against him, Nick is determined to get back home to Stefanie, if only to say to her three important words.

This book is about a couple that overcomes the statistics about high school relationships. The story picks up at the present and then jumps back to the 1970s. Rebecca Winters shows readers the state of the relationship between the hero and the heroine, and then shows them how it came about.

Because the relationship is more or less a given from the beginning, it is easy to see why some people dismiss the idea that this is a romance novel. However, the fact that the state of the couple is revealed at the beginning doesn’t reduce the impact of the story.

There is so much to love about this book, especially as the heroine begins to read her diary, taking readers through the hardships that kept breaking the couple apart. It is easy to see why some people might dislike this book.

However, it is more likely to impress than disappoint.

+Three Little Miracles

Tracey has amnesia. But she is still determined to leave Julien Chappelle. Tracey’s amnesia has done little to repress the one memory she could never forget, a secret for which she is determined to divorce Julien shortly after their honeymoon.

However, Julien won’t so easily give up on their relationship. If Tracey wants a divorce, then he will give it to her, but only if she agrees to stay with him, living in the same home for thirty more days and nights.

Tracey is conflicted. While she is determined to leave, the three triplets who only want their mother to come home prove to be even more compelling.

This book tries to engage readers from the beginning. Tracey wakes up in the hospital and realizes that she had an accident that took her memory away. She is confronted by a man who claims to be her husband.

She knows she has loved him since she was eight, but she also knows she filed divorce papers. And then there are the babies, her babies, triplets to be exact. This book is pretty sappy and it can be slow, but it should appease fans of romance.
