Rene Gutteridge is a bestselling and award-winning novelist who writes inspirational Christian fiction and romance novels among many other genres.
She loves to describe herself as a bestselling author, wife, basketball player, mother, and playwright with more than 30 plays published.

In her earlier years, she went to Oklahoma City University, where she studied Mass Communications majoring in screenwriting and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
She is a seasoned collaborator in film and fiction and is an expert in contemporary, comedy, suspense, and drama.

Gutteridge has novelized six movies and screenplays working with Rik Swartzwelder the director/writer and won the Best Women’s Fiction Award for “Never the Bride” that she wrote with screenwriter Cheryl Mackay.

She has also won several feature film awards and “My Life as a Doormat,” the novel that she published in 1990 was made into a Hallmark film.
In addition to writing novels, she works at Skit Guys Studios as a head writer where she has worked on several blockbuster titles such as “Family Camp.” She also directs plays and teaches creative writing in college classrooms and writer conferences.

She currently lives with her husband and children in Oklahoma City.

According to Rene Gutteridge, writing is something that she has been doing ever since she could hold a pen in hand.

However, when she joined college, she decided that she wanted a stable career and hence opted for Broadcast Journalism. A few months later, she thought she could never do that for the rest of her life and decided to do screenwriting instead.

While she was in college, writing a novel was not something she was ever interested in. But her professor urged her to try it and she came to find that she really liked it.

Gutteridge has been a professional author for more than two decades and found her first writing job right out of college. A church hired the young writer to write skits for the Friday night singles services and Sunday morning services.

Even though she started out writing romance and inspirational fiction, she is now a multi-genre author. This perhaps comes from her days as a screenwriter where the genre was not much of a concern.

Given that she is a woman of faith, her Christian worldview is an important element in her work too.

Rene Gutteridge has a very unique publishing story and her testimony of how she got into writing is very inspirational.

A few years before she was a successful author, she was pregnant with her first child and also had to maintain a drama ministry at church. Still, she always had a passion for writing fiction but all she got were rejection letters.

She was certain that her passion was from God and hence was confused that nothing seemed to be going her way. What was worse was that she knew she would never have any time to write once she got a new baby.

But one cold February night, she woke up in the middle of the night and unable to sleep got on her knees, and prayed that God would make her dream of publishing come true.

She went back to bed and slept better than she ever had for months and felt at peace and unburdened. Rene convinced herself that od had decided to make her sacrifice her career and become a mother.

But a month after getting her son, she got a call from a publisher interested in publishing “Ghost Writer.” She has never looked back since.

“Boo” by Rene Gutteridge is a story about how Christians can work out their faith with fear and trembling.

The best thing that ever happened to the small town of Skary Indiana is when Wolfe Bone, otherwise known as Boo had moved into town. For almost two decades, he had been the biggest tourist attraction in town that drew in all manner of visitors.

From the Spooky’s Bookstore where librarians dress up like the walking dead, to the Haunted mansion restaurant renowned for its bloody fingers, almost every business has been booming.

However, Wolfe suddenly reforms and leaves the genre and soon after starts pursuing Ainsley Parker the girl next door. The town is left in horror by his actions and soon the residents come up with a plot to get him back into writing thrillers.

Full of small-town charm, humor, and the message of enduring faith, the work shows that even the worst hypocrites and busybodies could be changed by faith in God.

Rene Gutteridge’s novel “Boo Who” opens with almost everyone in Sakry Indiana dealing with something of an epic identity crisis.

Even the small town does not know its identity. At some point, it had been known as the hometown of Wolfe “Boo” Boone the most popular horror fiction author in the world.

When Bone quit his flourishing career as a horror fiction author the town had immediately started hemorrhaging visitors. The town now finds itself on the verge of bankruptcy with many businesses shuttered.

In the meantime, Boone has taken to selling cars and is wondering if he will ever pick up his pen again. But even as he is losing his place in the literary world, Ainsley Parker his fiances is becoming a huge star.

The media just cannot get enough of the new diva on the scene. Throw in a bargain dress and a bargain dress in addition to an unconventional therapist and too many pounds on the hips among other bizarre things and happiness and it is easy to see why Skary can be quite a charming even though bizarre town.

“Boo Hiss” by Rene Gutteridge is set on a soccer field complex in Skary, Indiana. It suddenly bursts into life while the local coffee shop starts providing internet access alongside its overpriced coffee.

People are getting goosebumps as it seems that Katelyn Downey has come up with a diabolical plan to turn the small town into a den of cool suburban revelry. Could this be the solution to the financial woes plaguing the city?

Concerned residents are split over what direction the town should take even as many of them are dealing with personal changes.
Meanwhile, Wolfe Boone has been finding it hard to find a new niche as he struggles to get back into horror.

Ainsley his new wife has no such problems as she has been executing intricate events with perfection and panache though she was not so successful with scheduling her pregnancy.

She is initially frustrated but soon becomes envious when she learns that Melb her Wacky friend is newly pregnant by her husband Oliver.

With winsome humor and quirky characters, it provides unexpected insights into how different people respond to growth and change.

I have the first three books of the “Boo” series and would like to have the fourth one, but all I find is on Kindle. I want a book I can hold and turn the paper pages. Any suggestions?
