Early and Personal Life

Writing Career

Starting out back in 2007, Renee George would begin her writing career with the novel ‘Ultimate Evil,’ which would also be a fantasy novel. Following this, she wouldn’t release another novel until 2014, bringing out ‘Protected by the Alpha’ in 2014, and this would also go on to become the second in her ‘Cull’ series of books. She would publish a lot of series over the years, many set within the urban fantasy mold, creating her sense of style and tone.

Often infusing her novels with a sense of romantic suspense too, Renee George would establish a real feeling of tension in her work. This would work well to convey an evocative and rich atmosphere that would really give her readers something to savor. Producing a variety series and stories still, she continues releasing work, maintaining a strong presence both online as well as off.

Midnight Before Christmas

Initially published through the ‘Book Boutiques’ publishing imprint, this would first come out back in 2016 on the 15th of March. It would be the fifth book in the ongoing ‘Midnight Shifters’ series of novels, following on thematically with its own self-contained story. All set in the same world, the series combines fantasy with a sense of steamy romance and passion simmering throughout.

What this is is essentially a seasonal addition to the rest of the ‘Midnight Shifters’ series as a whole, giving readers a different insight into its rich world. Fun and festive, it still has an underlying sense of darkness and intrigue that really propels it along forwards, right to its thrilling conclusion. There’s a lot to unpack here, and it gets to deliver plenty of unique world-building throughout as well, giving it more depth in the process.

The characters themselves are highly well thought out, creating realistic people in otherwise fantastical situations. This gives it a real sense of grounding and realism that definitely allows it to stand on its own two feet, keeping it engaging at every level. With plenty of romance too, it provides a sense of escapism too, as the story comes to a satisfying conclusion at the end.

Two Pits and a Little Murder

This book would originally make up the sixth instalment in the overall ‘Barkside of the Moon’ series of cozy murder mystery novels. First published on the 30th of December, this would originally be released through the Kindle platform to an already eager audience. Continuing on with another self-contained murder mystery, it’s set in the same world as before, while being a series grounded in reality.

Following Lily Mason and her boyfriend Parker Knowles, this sees her and a friend rescue two Pitbull dogs, removing them from harm’s way. Looking to find who left the dogs behind in an old house, they soon find other secrets lying there, including a corpse in the basement. Now they must work together to discover what’s actually going on and who did it, even if it might mean danger for themselves. Will they be able to find the killer in time, can the bring the dogs to safety, and what will become of two Pits and a little murder?
