Publication Order of Targa Trilogy Books

Richard S. Tuttle
Richard S. Tuttle is an American author of epic fantasy. He started his writing career with his “Targa” trilogy. It became the foundation of his “Alcea Collection”, this seventeen volume epic fantasy collection of three series (“Targa Trilogy”, “Demonstone Chronicles”, and “Sword of Heavens”).

He grew up in New Jersey and he has lived in numerous places in the US. He has traveled around the world and each and every place that he’s visited has added to his writing. While childhood experiences add to a person, he believes that travel adds even more. The more varied the travel is, the greater exposure to different geography and cultures.

“Origin Scroll” is the first novel in the “Targa” series and was released in 1997. The world’s in peril. Sarac, the evil sorcerer, seeks to find this ancient document called, the Origin Scroll. This ancient tome contains all the knowledge to control the very existence of the Universes. Sarac will stop at nothing in order to obtain the Origin Scroll, and the fate of all the Universes rest with three unknown children.

Alexander Tork, this fifteen year old boy, is an apprentice lumberman that is learning the trade from his dad in a tiny nameless village in the frontier region of Targa. Oscar Dalek also fifteen years old, lives with his widowed mom in a town on the Targa-Cardonia border. This family’s survival rests with the boys’ abilities to salvage whatever he’s able to from the caravans that cross the border. Jenneva Roth, who is a fifteen year old girl that loves reading, lives with her aged uncle in western Targa. But her uncle’s health has been failing and she must travel clear across the country in order to live with relatives that she has never seen before.

“Sapphire of the Fairies” is the first novel in the “Sword of Heavens” series and was released in 1998. The sky is dark. Neither the moon nor the sun have been seen in decades now. The seas are barren, and the land’s fruitless. There are no laws, just the rule of might is exerted over this hapless bunch of people that are able to wield it. In a land of despair and darkness, there is just a single shining light, this ancient prophecy which foretells of the coming king and his companion, the vanquisher of evil.

“Sapphire of the Fairies” is the first of seven volumes of this epic fantasy series “Sword of Heavens”. Explore this vast continent where dwarves, unicorns, elves, dragons, demons, fairies, and man all exist.

This starts the saga of five humans that are on the verge of adulthood. Living in a land where nobody can be trusted, these five adventurers have to restore the magical Sword of Heavens and defeat the Evil One, this evil sorcery whose minions roam the world in this attempt to beat the ancient prophecy. Discover this world of intrigue and magic created by Richard S. Tuttle, who has been called one of this century’s leading writers of innovative fantasy stores.

“Knights of Alcea” is the first novel in the “Demonstone Chronicles” series and was released in 2006. They don’t wear shining armor, nor do they carry colorful banners. Their names are unknown to your average citizen, however their commands carry weight over everybody but the king. They are the world’s masters in magic and warfare. They are the Knights of Alcea.

The days of Darkness and warfare had supposedly ended, and the Knights of Alcea had scattered across this huge nation, going back to their own private lives, their services not required any longer.

But unknown to them, this storm is rising over the horizon. When apparently senseless acts of violence begin erupting across the breadth of Alcea, the Knights of Alcea are pulled back into action, however their enemies are just as shrouded in secrecy while they move forward with this diabolical plan that’s designed to crush Alcea permanently.

“Avenging Shadow” is the first novel in the “Amica” series and was released in 2013. It has been four hundred years now since the Mage Wars ended, and Terrus the Liberator banished the mage lords off to the island of Lantana. Since that time, the continent of Amica has been free from their destructive influences, however one archivist fears that their sacred vow is being broken, and he’s willing to risk his life in order to stop it. Indeed, he’s willing to risk all of Lantana in order to foil such an evil plot.

Marcus is an apprentice blacksmith in his dad’s village forge. His ambition is to become the best blacksmith that he possibly can, however fate holds a different future for young Marcus of Kor. When this dark stranger appears in the forge with this black and hiltless sword made out of an unknown metal, Marcus gets propelled on this dangerous adventure which is going to change the world.

Along his path, Marcus is going to have to deal with this rebel spymaster whose end goal is to mold one young captive into a deadly hitman, a cloaked stranger whose focus is on ancient history with an urgency to avoid a feared future, one young warrior woman who befriends everybody but trusts nobody, a noble’s son with this eye for archery and a yearning for adventure, an elite military group willing to slaughter whole villages to please their masters, a once benevolent king that has mysteriously grown greedy and evil, and a general that knows that the world’s gone awry but feels helpless to change any of it.

This is the story of magic, adventure, intrigue, bravery, and betrayal. Even though it’s a story about a young man’s struggle to get justice, it’s also the story of friendship and the binding of diverse goals in this gripping saga of hope and daring.

“Evil Within” is a stand alone novel that was released in 2017. This young magician disregards centuries of warnings about the dark side of the Talent, her revenge begins this sequence of events which is going to endanger the entire world.

Instead of tutoring her young student about the dangers inherent of the Talent, she nurtures the dark side of magic inside of the young prince, and creates this unstoppable power which will consume everything in its path.
