Using all of the classic hallmarks and conventions of the action-thriller, he essentially turns them on their head, making them his own in the process. This approach is one that his many fans have come to appreciate, allowing him to become the writer he currently is today.

It’s also his use of character too, as many of his leading protagonists have become highly iconic figures in their own right. Later he would move to Australia, as he would also come to find his own distinct style as a novelist with something to offer. Taking lots of different ideas from the world around him, he would put much of it back into his work and his writing. Currently living in Australia still, he continues to put out work regularly, with a lot more to follow in the near future.

Writing Career

Over the years, Rob Jones has come to write a great many action-filled adventure novels that have thrilled readers from all around the world. Creating several series, from ‘Joe Hawke,’ ‘The Hunter Files,’ and ‘Avalon Adventure,’ to ‘A Cairo Sloane Adventure,’ and the ‘DCI Jacobs Mysteries,’ he’s a more than versatile writer. Living with his wife and children, he continues to write, as he maintains a strong profile and presence, both online as well as off.

The Curse of Medusa

First coming out in 2016, this would initially arrive in March on the 28th, as it would arrive to be greeted by an already eagerly awaiting audience. This is because it would be the fourth book in the ‘Joe Hawke’ series of action-thriller adventure novels, filled with excitement. Released on the Kindle platform, it would carry on from the previous book but would ultimately provide its own stand-alone story, providing something for both fans and newcomers alike.

Not only is the President of the United States kidnapped, but Washington DC has suffered the worst attack in history. Having walked away from his ECHO team, Joe Hawke awakes to find that he must fight his way from the Idaho Mountains to Washington DC and through to New York City. Then there’s Lea Donavan, who must deal with her father’s death, traveling from Elysium to Ireland in order to learn what happened on that fateful day during her childhood when he was killed. Will Joe Hawke be able to rescue the President, can Lea Donavan discover the truth of what happened to her father, and what will become of The Curse of Medusa?

There were so many exciting twists and turns here, and it really made the book a thrilling one to keep reading. With a surprise with almost every page turn, it keeps the reader in suspense constantly, never once letting go of them. It’s an extremely well-written novel, as it also develops the character of Joe Hawke, along with his overall world as well.

The Doomsday Cipher

Marking the third title in the ongoing ‘Avalon Adventure’ series, this would continue on from the previous two books titled ‘The Hunt for Shambhala’ and ‘Treasure of Babylon.’ Initially published back in 2020 on the 14th of September, it would provide another self-contained adventure in the action-packed series. While it can be read on its own, it does feature many recurring characters, with it giving plenty for returning fans of the franchise and author.

Learning of an ancient doomsday weapon while examining a Dominican friar’s memoirs, the Avalon crew head to a Mexican convent where an excavation’s set to take place. Following the clues, the trail leads them to a famous archaeological site located in western Belize, but there’s someone else looking for the weapon too and the power it wields. If it were to fall into the wrong hands, the fallout could be catastrophic, and Mitch Decker, the former USMC Captain, and Professor Selena Moore must do whatever it takes to prevent a calamity. Will they be able to find the ancient weapon in time, where will their journey take them both, and what will become of The Doomsday Cipher?

An ever-exciting adventure series, this really manages to run on several different levels, making it a more than thrilling story. Everything runs at a breathtaking action-packed speed, keeping the reader constantly guessing as to what’s coming next. It’s definitely a worthwhile addition to an already engaging series and one that will delight not only fans of the author but fans of the action-adventure genre as a whole.
