This is because it would be the fourth book in the ‘Joe Hawke’ series of action-thriller adventure novels, filled with excitement. Not only is the President of the United States kidnapped, but Washington DC has suffered the worst attack in history. Having walked away from his ECHO team, Joe Hawke awakes to find that he must fight his way from the Idaho Mountains to Washington DC and through to New York City. Then there’s Lea Donavan, who must deal with her father’s death, traveling from Elysium to Ireland in order to learn what happened on that fateful day during her childhood when he was killed. The Doomsday Cipher
Marking the third title in the ongoing ‘Avalon Adventure’ series, this would continue on from the previous two books titled ‘The Hunt for Shambhala’ and ‘Treasure of Babylon.’ Initially published back in 2020 on the 14th of September, it would provide another self-contained adventure in the action-packed series. While it can be read on its own, it does feature many recurring characters, with it giving plenty for returning fans of the franchise and author.
Learning of an ancient doomsday weapon while examining a Dominican friar’s memoirs, the Avalon crew head to a Mexican convent where an excavation’s set to take place. Following the clues, the trail leads them to a famous archaeological site located in western Belize, but there’s someone else looking for the weapon too and the power it wields. If it were to fall into the wrong hands, the fallout could be catastrophic, and Mitch Decker, the former USMC Captain, and Professor Selena Moore must do whatever it takes to prevent a calamity. Will they be able to find the ancient weapon in time, where will their journey take them both, and what will become of The Doomsday Cipher?
An ever-exciting adventure series, this really manages to run on several different levels, making it a more than thrilling story. Everything runs at a breathtaking action-packed speed, keeping the reader constantly guessing as to what’s coming next. It’s definitely a worthwhile addition to an already engaging series and one that will delight not only fans of the author but fans of the action-adventure genre as a whole.
