Robert Kroese Book Series
The most noteworthy series of books written by Robert Kroese is his Mercury series of books. The books focus extensively on Mercury, an angel who is supposed to be preparation Armageddon but instead slacks off and does other things with his time. Mercury works alongside Christine Temetri, a religious news reporter who has begun to feel jaded over her job, and works hard to find many people who are out to try and end the world. Although Mercury is supposed to help with ending the world, he is more focused on enjoying life and doesn’t feel a need to end civilization as it is.
The Big Sheep series is another book series from Kroese worth looking into. This takes place in the not too far off future in an alternate Los Angeles following the collapse of modern society. The stories follow private investigator Erasmus Keane as he finds unique figures and goes out on the trail to find answers to many mysteries and crimes that take place in the area. These include areas in the Disincorporated Zone, a part of Los Angeles that has become disowned and has essentially become a massive slum.
Robert Kroese Books
Mercury Falls is the first book that Robery Kroese published. Introduced in 2009, this profiles Christine Temetri as she covers stories about cults dedicated to the end times for a religious news magazine. She begins to start questioning her career and if it is the right one for her when suddenly Mercury falls from the sky. An angel that clearly doesn’t care much about planning Armageddon, he and Christine accidentally stop the assassination of a man who is about to become the new Antichrist. This leads to Christine having to find a way to get Mercury to take sides and to stop the Antichrist before he is able to spread havoc upon the world.
The 2012 book Mercury Begins is a prominent story that focuses on the angel’s early days. It goes back to the days of ancient Troy when Mercury orchestrates a famous sneak attack on enemy forces to try and bring about an end to the war that has permeated the land for years. However, as Mercury attempts to make the sneak attack work, things become far more complicated than what they have to be.
Kroese has written other books in different series as well. The 2014 book Starship Grifters is a story in his Rex Nihil series. This is a series about a space traveler who surprisingly conquers a prison planet. But in order to be rid of the planet and to avoid being stuck there for the rest of his life, he must find a way to scam someone into taking in his planet. Even with this, there are plenty of distractions and threats that are out there to try and keep him from being in more trouble than what he can afford to get himself into.
Kroese has written a few standalone novels as well. The 2013 novel Schrodinger’s Gat is one of his most popular books. This novel is written as a noir thriller about a man who is saved from a suicide attempt. He begins to wonder if life is really as bad as he thinks it is. But while he tries to alter the future to his own benefit to keep him from becoming depressed again, he finds that the future is willing to fight back. This leads to a real risk of him being in jeopardy as the future comes out to attack him.

This comes amid the development of many unusual religious cults and terrorist acts that occur out of fear over the uncertainty of the future. This leads to many trying to find answers as to what is happening and why the world has been placed in extreme danger.
The Druid Chronicles books by Kevin Hearne is another series for fans to watch for. The series is about a Druid living in modern times who operates a bookstore and has a shape-shifting ability.
