Early and Personal Life
Born on the 9th of October 1956 in Omaha, Robert Reed developed an interest in reading and writing from an early age. Growing up in Nebraska, he enjoyed reading a variety of books, which inspired him to write his own stories. After graduating in 1987 from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a degree in biology, Reed worked as a lab technician and then a full-time science fiction writer.
Inspiration for Reed’s writing came from a variety of sources, as he was exposed to a range of literature while growing up. He was particularly inspired by a wide-range of science-fiction authors, studying their styles and techniques. This inspired him to create his own stories and find his own voice as a writer.
Reed has grown as an author, honing his craft over the years and developing his own unique style. He has published an extensive library of short fiction, novels, and novellas. His work has been recognized and honored with several awards and nominations, including Hugos for his short fiction and a John W. Campbell nomination for best novel. Writing Career
