Rona Halsall
Rona Halsall was a management consultant for twenty years, and spent much of her time writing up strategies, grant applications, and business plans, before she dedicated herself to creative writing on a full-time basis.

Her writing abilities have been honed by reading voraciously, along with undertaking an open university creative writing course.

Rona’s work has hit the top 100 in the USA, Canada, UK, and Australia. Her challenge is to find domestic storylines with twists that her readers won’t see coming.

She was born in Nottingham and grew up close to Blackpool and attended college in Leeds. A decade later, moved to Snowdonia, North Wales where she brought her family up, as she worked as a business mentor.

When she was done mentoring, she got the best job that she’s ever had working in an animal rescue center in North Wales. She got cold and wet, sure, however she still loved working with all the animals and being outdoors. They had 33 cats, horses, dogs, and a number of small animals. She left there with three rescue guinea pigs and a puppy that they’d fostered but later adopted.

Rona is an outdoorsy person and loves to stomp her way up a mountain, walking the coastal paths and exploring the wonderful beaches and glens on the Island as she plots out her next book.

She has three children and two step-children who are grown up and leading interesting and varied lives, which provides her plenty of ideas for new stories.

Reading is something she does for pleasure as well as for her job. She enjoys a wide variety of genres however her favorites are psychological thrillers. She also enjoys a good uplifting story, to cleanse her reading palette. Rona is also able to get excited about a dystopian future tale. Despite hating history in school, she is enjoying a love of historical novels, as she loves learning about different periods in time through various stories.

“Keep You Safe” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2018. Natalie sits in prison, having been convicted of a crime she didn’t commit, and vows to get revenge on her husband, who got her put there. He has sold off everything that they own, filed for divorce and took Harry (their baby son) to live with his millionaire parents on the Isle of Man, which is a different jurisdiction from the UK, where Natalie has got no rights.

When Natalie gets released three years later, she rushes out to the Isle of Man to find her son. However she has to continue looking over her shoulder since, while she was in prison, she’s been getting death threats. Can she track her son down before her pursuer is able to?

“Love You Gone” is the second stand alone novel and was released in the year 2018. When Mel shows up at the holiday cottage in the Lake District, she is expecting to find the heating on and Luke (her husband) and her two kids waiting for her. Possibly a bottle of wine opened.

Instead, there’s just a note on the side that says they’ve headed out for a walk. However they still have yet to return several hours later, and Mel knows that something is wrong. Truly wrong. When a search does not find them, she must confess to the cops that her marriage is not all that it seems. Even if this risks secrets of hers being revealed.

“The Honeymoon” is the third stand alone novel and was released in the year 2019. Chloe feels like she’s got her life together at last. After a tough childhood and losing both of her parents, she worked hard to have the life she loves in lively Brighton, helping people out as a physiotherapist. And then she meets the perfect guy.

It is quite the whirlwind romance, however Dan is a funny, handsome, and just the kindest guy that she has ever met. When she sees him standing up at the altar, tears glistening in his eyes, she knows that it’ll be for always.

While sunbathing on their honeymoon and laughing over drinks, planning their future with their feet in the sand, he jokes that he would like for them to stay there forever. At first, she couldn’t agree more. It is quite tempting to imagine truly leaving behind her troubled past. However while the honeymoon continues, he gets more and more adamant about not leaving. In fact, he’s not letting her.

Could he just be protecting her, like he claims? Or is it something a whole lot more sinister?

This is a story filled with twists, secrets, and unexpected reveals in it. And it’s sure to keep you perched on the edge of your seat.

“Her Mother’s Lies” is the fourth stand alone novel and was released in the year 2019. What if the person that you trust most in the world was lying to you for your entire life?

Martha would do anything for Fran, her devoted mom. Martha, now in her mid-twenties, still lives with her in their isolated, pretty cottage out in the Cornish countryside. Fran paints illustrations, as Martha is training to be an animal nurse.

However then Martha sees an odd message on her mom’s phone, which seems to come from her estranged dad. He had been there for her first steps, helped with her homework, and taken her out to get ice cream on the weekends. He walked out, however just two days before her ninth birthday. She never knew what happened, and neither she nor Fran heard from him ever again.

She tracks him down, desperate to get answers. However when they come face to face, she is unprepared for the savage truth. He closes his eyes and tells her that he’s not her dad. Her mom had been telling lies. And not just about who her real dad is.

The novel hooks you right from the first page, and there are so many twists that keep you guessing until the very end. And some readers didn’t see the ending coming at all.
