Fortunately, his combat tracking dog knows just the right places to look. Even after the US Marine Corps declared him dead, Aspen wants his brother back, dead or alive. She is unwilling to let him die without fight. She adopts her brother’s former combat tracking team dog, Talon with the hope that she will come closer to finding peace about Austin.

Nightshade Nightshade is the first book in the Discarded Heroes series. The series features a compelling four-book series about heroes that have championed freedom, survived cruelties of war and now the heroes go back home, discarded and wounded. The latter books in the Discarded Heroes series are Digitalis, Wolfsbane and Firethorn. The Nightshade series is based on a central character Max Jacobs, one of the discarded heroes. He comes home and finds a wall of failure, in his friendships, his career and in his marriage too. From this time to the end of his life, he has a thread of hope. He tries to find answer in covert government operations, but could this be the best answer for him or will it bring more danger and create a dissension and further break up his family? Max Jacobs, former navy therefore finds himself fighting a new war, a war for his broken family. Suffering from a PTSD condition, Max cannot control his anger and is forced to get away from his wife who files a protective order against him. Max’s wife is then quite broken apart, after some time she discovers the source of a human interest story at a local newspaper story. Is she going to uncover Nightshade, an elite team that Max is secretly working with and endanger both max and herself? Ronie Kendig made a great release with the first debut of the series.
