About Rosalind Lauer
The American author Rosalind Lauer is widely renowned for her inspirational and motivating novels filled with warmth and heart. Writing for a number of years now, she really uplifts her readers with her positive tone and enlightening outlook upon life. This sense of positivity seems to come across off the page almost effortlessly, with her many series providing a sense of familiarity as they progress. Often featuring Amish communities in her stories, her novels are bright and colorful, while taking place in the great outdoors.

Visiting Amish communities during her childhood, Lauer would have a strong connection to the lifestyle, something which is clearly evident within her work. It would be faith as well that would come to feature heavily in her work, with Christianity driving much of it forwards. This would help set her apart as a writer, establishing her with her own unique style and outlook on the genre as a whole. Using the great rural expanse of the American country, Lauer uses it to its full advantage, really setting the scene for what’s to come.

The characters she creates are also well established, as they feel fully fleshed out upon the page, leaving a long lasting impact for the audience. Sticking with the reader, they resonate in a very real and meaningful way, providing a strong set of principles and morals. This has seen her become a huge success the world over, creating and establishing a unique style that has gone on to gain prominence worldwide. With a lot more to follow she definitely isn’t finishing any time soon either, as there’s plenty more books planned on the horizon.

Early and Personal Life
Growing up in a large family as a child, Rosalind Lauer was always interested in writing from a young age. Over time she would develop this, creating her own unique style of storytelling, refining and honing her craft throughout the years. Born and raised in Maryland, she’d constantly be taking in ideas and inspiration from the world around her, continually putting it back into her world.

It was during her childhood that she would also visit Lancaster County’s Amish community, and this would also help inspire her. Attending Wagner College based in New York City, she would later graduate, going on to work for Simon and Schuster, and then Harlequin Books. Currently living with her family in Oregon, she continues to write to this present day, all while living in the great outdoors.

Writing Career
Starting out back in 2011, Rosalind Lauer would release her first novel ‘A Simple Winter,’ which would also be the first in her ‘Seasons of Lancaster’ series of books. She’d later follow this up in 2012 one year later with the next book in the series, ‘A Simple Spring,’ and then ‘A Simple Autumn’ that very dame year. Then there would be her ‘Lancaster Crossroads’ series of books, which begun with ‘A Simple Faith’ in 2013, and then ‘A Simple Hope’ and ‘A Simple Charity,’ both in 2014.

Using inspirational faith as the core basis for much of her work, Lauer would feature Christianity at the heart of many of her stories. This would allow them to speak to readers worldwide, regardless of them being largely focused on the Amish community and lifestyle. Gaining a lot of acclaim as time goes one, there’s plenty more set to come still, with her working on into the foreseeable future.

A Simple Autumn
Released through the Ballantine Books publishing label, this would originally come out in 2012 on the 1st of January. Marking the third title in the ‘Seasons of Lancaster’ trilogy of books, it would provide another heartfelt story set in the Amish community of Lancaster County. Providing its own passionate story, it’s similar to the previous two, while also developing the world and delivering some twists and turns of its own.

Although it can be read by itself, there are many arcs and strands from the previous books, all of which do get tied up here. Making for a satisfying book in the collection, it really does deliver in every way, making for an invigorating and entertaining read. The world itself is also very well realized, which is no surprise when considering how Lauer herself spent much time in the area and with the Amish.

Not wanting to leave his the close-knit Amish community he’s been raised in, Jonah King only has eyes for Annie Stoltzfus, as everything he’s ever wanted lies in Lancaster county. She wanted his brother though, much to Jonah’s disappointment, but Jonah’s brother chose someone else, leaving Jonah tongue-tied whenever he’s around Annie. Courting the schoolteacher Emma Lapp, Gabe King refuses to give up the rumspringa of his youth, which leads to Emma conducting their relationship in secret. Will Jonah pluck up the courage to speak to Annie? Can Gabe leave behind the motorcycles and outside world? What will happen during a simple Autumn?

A Simple Charity
Once again released through the Ballantine Books publishing house, this would be the third title in the ‘Lancaster Crossroads’ series of books. Published on the 28th of October, this would initially come out in 2014, following on directly from the previous two titles with its own distinctly self-contained story. Giving the world of the series a greater sense of weight and heft, it manages to really inspire with its upbeat sense of positivity. Moving and emotional, it’s a well told story filled with warmth and passion, making for an engaging and highly accessible novel.

Still in her twenties and twice widowed, Fanny Lapp is an Amish now single mother now feeling the weight of the world upon her shoulders. With the help of the community close to hand, though, she soon finds herself being drawn to Zed Miller, who himself has sins of the past and is sent over by the bishop to help her. She can’t get her previous husband out of her mind though, all the while Zed becoming an important member of her family after being in the outside world for so long. Will both overcome their past and share a life together? Can they live happily ever after? What will become of a simple charity?
