After the death of her father, well known for being a charlatan in the small town, Anna Campbell finds herself with no money, home, and no one to call family. Her father’s death has left her lonely, and she starts longing for a home and a real family, but her dreams feel futile as days pass.

The only thing her father left her were debtors demanding their money from her.

With no other place to go and trying to survive, Anna embarks on a journey to Winchester, hoping to find a job and later a long-lost aunt. On her way there, she is hit by a speeding carriage and falls into a ditch.

He spends every penny from his allowance on gambling and is never satisfied with what he gets, so he is always looking for more. Lady Tremaine doesn’t like him for his behavior; that’s why he thinks his shares might be transferred to Anna.
