Roxie Ray is a group of authors who have made a name for themselves writing science fiction alien romance novels. The author friends made their debut writing paranormal romance when they penned “Her Alien Roman Prince” in 2019. “Her Dragon Daddy” by Roxie Ray is the story of Ava, a woman whose man had gone missing years ago leaving her pregnant with Madox their son. For years, she hoped and waited for his return so that she could be and have a life she always dreamed about.
Even though it has been several years and she has tried to get over him, circumstances force her to go back to the small village where Mav is waiting for her. The moment she bumps into him at the grocery store, her heart lurches and her world tilts on its axis. Despite the time that has passed, it seems that she still burns for Mav.
He had been forced to leave her all those years ago due to a dark family secret. He happens to be a Dragon shifter and when his dragon emerged, things had become very difficult for him. Things were made harder by the fact that destiny had chosen him to be his clan’s “Alfa Dragon.”
When Mav sees Ava alongside Maddox, her son, he knows deep inside him that he is his. He is frustrated and angry that she never told him of his son. It makes for an excellent romance tale with likable characters and lots of heart.
Roxie Ray’s novel “Her Dragon Protector” opens with a bang and never lets up right to the very end. Charlotte the female protagonist is on the run from Logan, her abusive boyfriend. She heads to the small Colorado town of Black Claw, where Ava, her only friend who has also been her best friend for years lives.
Upon arriving in the small town, she is so exhausted and nearly collapses from her wounds. Axel, a dragon shifter in town, immediately knows she is his mate by smelling her.
He helps her by catching her before she falls to the ground. He is overjoyed at having found his mate and wants to claim Axel immediately. He wants to avenge her by killing her ex boyfriend and it takes a lot of willpower from friends for him to claim his inner dragon that was raring to go.
She has severe injuries and needs to be taken to the hospital where she is admitted by the doctors. What Charlotte does not know is that most of the people she has been interacting with in the small town are dragon shifters. Axel intends to keep this fact secret from her until he is certain that she intends to stay.
It is a well written story with plenty of disbelief, suspense and intrigue in addition to romance.
“Her Dragon Lover” by Roxie Ray introduces a twenty eight year old woman named Harley. She is the manager of a beauty salon that crushes on a younger man named Stefan, who she met at the local auto repair shop where she is an auto mechanic.
Harley does not know that most of the residents of Black Claw including her crush Stefan are dragon shifters. For several weeks now, she has been flirting with the guy but his response has so far not been positive.
But things take a turn for the better when he hears her getting abused by another man and comes to her rescue. He believes she is his mate but keeps resisting her since he has a lot of secrets.
Similar to all other novels in the series, this is an excellent story with a beautiful slow burn romance between Harley and Stefan. The authors also include a generous sprinkling of suspense and intrigue.
