S.K. Dunstall
S. K. Dunstall is the pseudonym used by Sherylyn and Karen Dunstall, who are sisters that have been telling stories, and sharing them with one another, their entire lives. They write science fiction and live in Melbourne, Australia.

At some point, they realized that the stories they worked on as a team were much better than the ones they worked on by themselves. And a co-writing partnership was born. Even though they write together, each one of them has a different role, which changes depending upon the book they are working on.

They get inspired to write by talking it out. A long lunch, one bottle of wine, and they’ve got so many ideas. As well as talking over coffee during breakfast. It makes it so difficult to head to work when you just want to sit down and write.

The best part of being a writer is creating worlds and characters, and having a ‘story’ start to emerge.

Writers block for this writing duo lasts about ten minutes, one of the benefits of having a co-writer. It’s very beneficial having somebody to talk to about both the writing and the story. Anything really.

“Linesman” is the first novel in the “Linesman” series and was released in 2015. The lines. There isn’t a single ship able to traverse through the void without them. Only linesmen can work with them. However just Ean Lambert is able to hear their song. And everybody believes he’s crazy.

Most slum kids never go too far, definitely not becoming a level ten linesmen like Ean. Even if he is art of this unethical and small cartel, and all the other linesmen disdain his self taught methods, he is working and certified.

But then this mysterious alien ship is found right at the edges of the galaxy. Each one of the major galactic powers is desperate to be the very first to reveal the ship’s secrets, however all they have learned is that it has got the familiar lines of energy, and a defense system, which once it’s triggered, will annihilate everything in a 200 kilometer radius.

This vessel threatens any and every linesman that dares approach it, except for Ean. His unique talents might just be the key to better comprehending this alarming new force, and re-configuring the relationship between humans and the ships which serve them, forever.

“Alliance” is the second novel in the “Linesman” series and was released in 2016. Ean Lambert finds he’s facing this alien ship that he does not understand, and a horrifying political threat that he just cannot fight, in this continuation of the “Linesman” series.

The lines are the soul of each and every ship. It was once believed that there were just ten, however that was before this alien vessel showed up at the edge of space, before Ean Lambert heard there were more lines singing. Ean’s ways of communicating with lines is odd. However his abilities make him a rather valuable tool, or weapon, to command.

Captain Selma Kari Wang has lost it all: her crew, her legs, and her ship. However the New Alliance of Worlds is not finished with her yet. After they are able to rebuild her busted body, they send her off to captain one of the new alien ships, and team her with Ean, the single person able that can understand the alien lines.

Ean and Kari Wang are poised on the threshold of some discoveries which could change the world. However not everybody wants the New Alliance to control the secrets that they uncover, and those that oppose will not hesitate to do whatever is necessary to stop them.

Readers found this to be rich with that sense of wonder that makes science fiction such a delight.

“Stars Uncharted” is the first novel in the “Stars Uncharted” series and was released in 2018. A ragtag group of explorers are just about to make the biggest score in the galaxy, in this rip roaring space opera.

Out on this space jump, nobody is who they appear. Captain Hammond Roystan is a single cargo runner that has stumbled across the discovery of a lifetime: the Hassim (this disabled exploration ship) and its valuable record of unexplored worlds. Josune Arriola, his junior engineer, said that her last assignment was out in the uncharted rim. However she’s decked out in some high level bioware which belies her more humble back story.

Nika Rik Terri, this renowned body modification artist, has run afoul of some clients that won’t take no for an answer. She’s forced to flee off world, and she’s dragging along this rookie modder, who appears to be much too experienced in war and weapons.

Together this mismatched crew is going to wind up on just one ship, hurtling through the lawless reaches of deep space with Roystan at the helm. Trailed by some nefarious company men, they’ll race to find the most famous lost world of all, not to mention riches beyond their wildest dreams.

“Stars Beyond” is the second novel in the “Stars Uncharted” series and was released in 2020. The Another Road’s crew has returned, and are closer than ever to the biggest score in the galaxy. If they can just keep a step ahead of the Justice Department agents and the Company men that are tracking them.

A captain without a memory. An engineer that has a fondness for weapons. One obsessive genemodder that loves tinkering. This is the Another Road crew.

Nika, Josune, and Roystan were able to escape the company thugs which were trying to kill them. They have gotten this new spaceship to replace The Road (after it got blown up right underneath them). And this new ship of theirs is armed to the teeth with some dangerous weapons, all courtesy of Josune. All that is left to do before they head off to find the legendary lode of transurides is to restore Roystan’s memory. In order to actually do that, they have to collect the genemod that Nika’s ordered.

However they’ll first have to shake the Companies and the Justice Department agent tracking them.
