Sabrina Jeffries is one of the New York Times bestselling authors from America, who is well known for writing some of the very successful romance novels of the recent times. The name is actually a pseudonym used by the author who also uses other pen names such as Deborah Nicholas and Deborah Martin. Sabrina was born in New Orleans, United States, and had a pretty normal childhood till the age of seven. After that, she had to move to Thailand along with her missionary parents. She stayed there for a period of 11 years during which she had some of the most awesome experiences of her life. Sabrina got the chance of playing in one of the rain forests, experienced the entire rabies shot series, and was also chased by baby elephants. As she did not have anyone else to play with except her siblings, she turned towards the world of books and developed an extreme interest in reading them. Sabrina liked to read all that she could get her hands on, starting from comic books, romance novels, classics, etc. From the age of 12. She began developing her own stories, most of them being romantic tales or something related to romance. Sabrina went on to obtain her Ph.D in the subject of English, in which she wrote her dissertation on the life of James Joyce. After that, she began working as a visiting assistant professor at the Tulane University in the English subject.
While working, she once tried to attempt developing an academic work based on her dissertation. However, she became bored after a short while and therefore, she began writing romance novels after that. Her first attempt did not well and so did her next nine romance novels. But after 10 rejections, Sabrina was finally able to succeed in getting a contract from the Leisure publishing house. Since then, she was written and published around 50 romance and short fiction novels in her writing career, many of which have become national bestsellers. She mostly used the names of Deborah Martin and Sabrina Jeffries for writing historical romance novels. And for writing the contemporary paranormal and romantic suspense novels, Sabrina uses the pen name Deborah Nicholas. Her successful writing career has allowed her to win a number of prestigious awards such as the Maggie, the Holt Medallion Award, and the Best Booksellers’ Award. The novels written by author Sabrina are often featured on the USA Today Bestseller list. Some of her novels have also featured on the New York Times Bestseller’s list. Author Sabrina writes her novels, mostly from her home office. In addition to writing novels, she also participates in blog writing and is a part of a group blogging website known as The Goddess Blogs. Because of the fluctuations in the schedules of her family, she sometimes does not write during the day and only gets times during the middle of the night for writing her novels. During her free time, Sabrina normally makes jewelries, solves jigsaw puzzles, and reads her favorite books. One of the successful novel series written by author Sabrina Jeffries is titled ‘The Duke’s Men’. It consists of a total of 4 novels and 2 novellas, which were published between the years 2012 and 2015. The first novel of the series was released under the title ‘What the Duke Desires’. It was published by the Pocket Books publishing house in the year 2013. The plot of this novel revolves around the happenings in the lives of the primary characters named Maximilian Cale and Lisette Bonnaud. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, it is shown that Maximilian Cole is the Duke of Lyons, who had forgotten about his missing brother a long ago. His elder brother was believed to be dead after he was kidnapped. But, a mysterious note comes from Tristan Bonnaud telling that Maximilian’s elder brother is still alive. This leads Maximilian straight to a viscount’s illegitimate daughter and the sister of Tristan Bonnaud named Lisette Bonaud. After that, the two of them pose and a husband and wife pair and travel to Paris for searching Tristan Bonnaud, who had also disappeared. On account of the search mission, Maximilian gets to spend a lot of time with Lisette. And the longer they stay together, the more Maximilian desires for the love of Lisette Bonnaud.
The second novel of the series was published under the title ‘When the Rogue Returns’. It was released by the Pocket Books publishing house in the year 2014. The plot of this novel is set around the main characters named Victor Cale and Isabella. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, it is shown that Victor Cale comes to know that his shy bride named Isabella uses her talents criminally to make imitation jewels. Her craft work was used for the theft of the royal diamonds of the Dutch, after which Isabella had disappeared. After a period of 10 years, Victor goes to Edinburgh in order to investigate the mysterious bride of a wealthy baron and he finds out that she is none other than Isabella. She has now turned into a bold lady and tells Victor that he was the one who abandoned her after the theft of the royal diamonds. As they get engaged in piecing the truths of their past lives together, their volatile passing reawakens. However, they are required to trust each other after keeping secrets from each for a decade so that they can catch the real thieves. They way, they will be able to sort out their misunderstandings and will be able to live together once again. Both the initial novels of the series became extremely successful and helped author Sabrina to establish herself as a noteworthy writer of the romance genre. She also helped herself to be recognized among the popular authors of her time. This gave her a lot of boost and increased her confidence to write many other novels in her writing career. Other than this novel series, Sabrina went on to write a number of other novel series, all of which became widely popular. This way, she was able to add more stars to her name and fame in her writing career.
