Sally MacKenzie is a popular American writer and a USA Today bestselling novelist of historical romance and historical fiction novels. She has written several widely successful books and series in her career. The popular book series penned by her include the Naked Nobility novel series, Spinster House book series, Duchess of Love book series, and the Widow’s Brew novel series. Sally likes to write sexy, funny romances set in Regency England. Her books have been finalists for several prestigious awards and have also appeared in the list of the top 10 romances of various magazines. A number of her novels and short stories are available in the audio format. Sally’s books have been translated into multiple foreign languages, including Norwegian, Romanian, Japanese, Czech, Portuguese, Indonesian, Russian, French, Turkish, and Spanish.

Before beginning her career in the field of novel writing, Sally obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Notre Dame University in English. She passed out with a first-class result. Sally is a dropout of the Cornell Law School. She had an interest in law studies, but could not continue her studies due to other commitments. Author Sally is also a former writer of federal regulation, parent volunteer, champion swimmer, and the mother of 4 grown-up children. She has a great interest in traveling and loves to visit England a lot, especially for researching the historic sites of the country and hiking through the English countryside. Author Sally is a native resident of Washington, DC. Currently, she resides in the Maryland suburbs along with her supportive husband and sons. Her home is located close to her childhood home.

Sally took the decision of becoming a writer when she was in grade school. Eventually, she majored in English, dropped out of law school, returned to her hometown in Washington, DC, and sat down to write her first book. However, she did not actually start writing stories. In fact, her initial works were regulations for the nutrition programs of the US government’s schools. While continuing with writing the regulations, Sally married her sweetheart from law school after his graduation. Two years later, she gave birth to her first son. Subsequently, Sally retired from federal regulation writing to look after her young son. While tending her kids, Sally used to indulge herself in writing stories or picture book texts to get rid of the boredom of being at home. She even tried carpool driving. And when all four of her sons were born, Sally had evolved into a skilled scheduler. She used to take them to soccer, baseball, swimming, basketball, piano, track racing, and scout training and even birthday parties without being late for any of them.

To pass her time in between her household chores and dropping her kids to school, Sally undertook more writing. She started penning school newsletters, class plays, family newsletter, auction programs, swim league guidance, etc. It was only after her kids joined a college that Sally decided to pursue her dream of developing a story of historical romance. Sally took several tries and rewritings to finally come up with a polished manuscript. After joining RWA, she sent the manuscript for the 2004 contest of Golden Heart. It worked out quite well for her as her manuscript made it to the final round. When one of the judges showed an interest in buying the manuscript, Sally agreed. The manuscript was then published under the title of The Naked Duke. From then onward, Sally has not looked back. She has penned many books under different series and most of them have become successful all over the world.

This trilogy series contains funny stories that revolve around a match-making duchess and her 3 sons. Ellie is desperate to find a husband for herself and the Duchess of Greycliffe looks for suitable wives for her three sons. The debut book of this series is entitled ‘Bedding Lord Ned’. It was released in 2012 by the Zebra publication. Initially, the Greycliffe Duchess is depicted as being fondly called the Duchess of Love. She is looking for a suitable wife for her elder son, Lord Edward, commonly called Ned.

Ellie Bowman is also in need of a husband and meets men on dates set by a matchmaker. She does not agree to marry any of the men because she has lost her heart to Lord Edward long ago. Lord Edward is a widower and mourns for the death of his first wife. Ellie hopes to get noticed by the handsome lord for once and make him fall for her beauty. After mourning for 4 years, Lord Edward decides to marry again. His mother throws a birthday party in his honor and invites beautiful ladies for his son to choose a wife for himself from them. One particular that intrigues Lord Edward is Ellie Bowman. She invades his dreams and makes him remember her in everything he does.

The next volume of the series is called ‘Surprising Lord Jack’. It was also published by the Zebra publication in 2013. This novel features the lead characters in the roles of Jack Valentine and Frances Hadley. Initially, Sally has shown that Frances Hadley has been managing the estate of her family for many years. When she decides to request a dowry for herself, several men in her family oppose her action. So, she decides to visit London and induce some sense into those interfering men. But, seeing the nonsense she has come across lately, Frances changes her appearance and disguises into someone else before starting her journey to London. Jack Valentine is Greycliffe Duchess’ third son. He is often chased by young ladies. When he throws a house party for the ladies, one of them runs him out of the party. Luckily, Jack finds a bed in the inn, but he has to share it with the redheaded Frances Hadley. Jack Valentine finds her quite entertaining. He decides to join her on the trip to London as a means to escape the matchmaking melodrama of is mother.
