Forever Black

Forever Black is the first novel in Forever series by Sandi Lynn featuring Ellery as the lead character. When she decided to move with her boyfriend to New York City, Ellery thought that they were going to have a happily ever after kind of life in their small apartment. At no point did she imagine that he would ever pack up his belongings and walk out on her the reason being “he needed space.”

Despite her always being afraid of being alone, being single becomes her new state now, with art and painting being her only solace. The lonely life goes on for some time until one night she gives a hand to an intoxicated stranger to get home safe and sound. Ellery was clueless that the mysterious man was none other than the CEO and millionaire Connor Black. The next morning he woke up to Ellery in his kitchen but instead of getting agitated that she had broken his number one rule about sleepovers, he is amazed by not just by her stubborn and daring nature but also by her kindness.

Connor Black was a dead man emotionally. A personal tragedy had transformed into the man he was now and never vowed ever let himself fall in love. He has abided to that pledge until now when Ellery makes an entry into his life by a mere accident. She goes ahead to open up to him and introduce him to her world which awakens Connor’s feelings and emotions he had no idea existed. Ellery is no different she finds herself getting drawn into his world, despite all the rumors she hears and the warnings she receives concerning his womanizing nature of using and misusing women.

Deep down Ellery understands that they can never be together. There is a big secret that she keeps and it could destroy Connor emotional this time sending his feelings to the grave for good.

The first book in the series is a brilliant read, one that ensures that even the hardcore romance readers are hooked from the first page to the last. The hero and the heroine all have a past that they do not want to share but instead want to keep it as a secret. Ellery is a young woman who has had her share of “love challenges” and now leading a solitude life. Having had dated a man for four years and not being able to keep him for a husband tore her world apart. Then there is Connor, a man who at first is complicated as his past relationships. Throughout the story, he matures and finally can approach love life from a different perspective. He begins to care for Ellery; he was always there for her even when she said that she did not want him to be.

Love In Between

Love in Between is the first novel Love series by Sandi Lynn. The story features two sections, and each chapter is narrated in first person perspective.

The first section is narrated by Lily Gilmore recounting the events that happened during her supposed wedding day and how her love life ultimately came to an end. Her wedding plan had gone on well up until she stumbled upon her fiancé having sex with her sister in the church just moment’s hours before her wedding.

Lily grew up with a famous rock star for a father, one big womanizer, a man who had an endless list of affairs with other women. Deception, cheating, and lies are all she knew when growing up, and because of that, she vowed never to allow herself to live the kind of life her mother did. In her quest to start a fresh kind of life she relocated Santa Monica from Seattle so that she could put all her focus on her love for photography. She chose to live a life free from men, lies, hassles, and love until the day she met the sexy masculine young man, Luke Matthews.

The second part of the narrative is narrated from Luke Matthew’s point of view. A year ago Luke lost the love of his life in a fatal car crash. The death of his fiancé significantly changed Luke’s life for the worst, and he became a man lost in his world, quit his job and became a guitarist to alleviate the pain of losing the only woman he ever loved.

His love and his life had been taken away, and he knew that he would never get that back until the day he met a beautiful young woman, Lily Gilmore.

The two characters cross paths when Lily moves into an apartment where Luke lives. Sam is one of the supporting characters and Luke’s best friend who helps Lily move her luggage into her new apartment. From their first encounter, Lily and Sam become instant friends. However, Lily and Luke’s first meeting is entirely off the hook, as she is met with hostility by Luke. However, as Sam and Lily get to know each other, Lily later learns Luke’s grief of losing a loved one. Sam plays a crucial role in establishing friendship between Luke and Lily which finally buds into a sensational romance.

The author does a fantastic job of bringing Luke and Lily together. Throughout the novel, we get to see their friendship grow and transform into a love that not even fate can end. It is brilliant how they manage to work out their differences, walk through their past and ultimately come out stronger as a couple. The first novel in Love series by Sandi Lynn is brilliantly woven, apart from the main characters, the secondary characters play a great deal in the overall love story.
