A British freelance journalist now turned full-time writer and author, Sandie Jones has been making a lot of headway in the literary industry recently. Making a name for herself, she has managed to really build upon her profile as a writer of psychological thriller novels, really coming into her own over the years. Writing in a highly direct style, she immediately grabs the attention of the reader, holding them there and not letting them go right until the very final page. With a clear gift for being able to build both suspense and tension, she really does know what she’s doing when it comes to creating a compelling storyline. This also rings true for her characters too, as they all manage to convey a sense of realism that really manages to draw the reader in.

Entertaining and enthralling, she always manages to deliver, whether it be in her work as a journalist, or as a writer of fiction. Reaching a mass audience of readers worldwide, she definitely knows how to make her work resonate with the reader, regardless of where they’re from. Clearly showing no signs of stopping any time soon either, it looks as if there’s plenty to come yet, as she will continue writing for a long time to come.

Early and Personal Life

Growing up in the United Kingdom, Sandie Jones would always have a strong fascination with the written word. This would pave the way to her wanting to pursue a career as a writer, allowing her to gain an understanding of the form throughout the intervening years. Taking her skills as a writer, she would start as a freelance journalist, writing for a number of well known publications, such as the ‘Daily Mirror’ and ‘The Sunday Times’ to name but a few. In time she would take this talent as a writer, using her experience with writing for a mass audience and going on to write fiction full time, which she continues to this day from her home in London with her husband and three children.

Writing Career

Bringing out her first book in 2018, Sandie Jones would arrive on the literary scene with the title ‘The Other Woman’. This would be a psychological thriller that would have a huge impact, causing the heads of many publishing professionals to turn. Whilst it would be stand-alone novel, not being a part of any overall series, she would follow it up in 2019 with another thriller novel, this time titled ‘The First Mistake’. It would also contain a large amount of suspense, allowing the reader to really revel in what she had to offer as an author gifted at the art of creating tension. With many of her peers and contemporaries now singing her praises, she will carry on gaining huge amounts of success as a writer, as her career goes from strength-to-strength.

The Other Woman

Initially published through the ‘Minotaur Books’ publishing label, this would first come out in 2018 on the 29th of March. Setting up the first novel to come from Sandie Jones as a novelist of fiction, it works well in establishing both her style and her tone. It is also an exemplary stand-alone novel that really manages to get under the skin of the reader, staying with them long after they’ve put the book down.

A psychological thriller with plenty of twists and turns, this is an extremely inspired first novel from Sandie Jones. Looking into a destructive relationship between a mother and her son, it manages to capture all the highs and lows of their bond. Not only that, but it also delves deep into the relationship when it is apparently threatened by a third party in the form of an interested woman. With Emily as the protagonist and the mother, Pammie, as the antagonist, it really manages to soar as a thrilling and entertaining novel.

Believing Adam to be perfect and the man of her dreams, Emily feels that she has a real catch on her hands from the first time she meets him. That is when she comes across Pammie, his mother, who also shares a deep bond with her son, something which may threaten their potential relationship together. Now it appears that Pammie wants Emily out of the picture, and she will do whatever it takes to keep her away from Adam for good. As the three of them come together, Pammie’s psychological manipulations threaten to tear the three of them apart as she will attempt to do whatever it takes to get her own way. Will she manage to succeed and keep Emily away? Can Emily fend of Pammie’s threatening behavior? What will become of the other woman?

The First Mistake

First brought out through the ‘Minotaur Books’ publishing outlet once again, this would also be a stand-alone title. Released on the 11th of June in 2019, it would be a psychological thriller too. It would also definitely be a must for any fans looking for more of the high quality that they’d now come to expect from the author, with it showing a clear sense of development from the first.

Providing a taut thriller once again, this really manages to take the energy from the previous novel up a level. Grabbing the reader’s attention almost straight away, it really works at allowing them to invest themselves in the characters and the story. Feeling as if they’re really getting to know them, Jones uses the template of three characters revolving around one another once more, surrounded by many secrets and lies. This is something she clearly excels at, as the drama is heightened, showing that she is definitely a writer to watch in the years to come.

Alice seems to have everything that she could ever want from life, in the form of a perfect husband and a successful business, along with two children. Her husband, Nathan, was there for her after her previous husband died, getting her through some difficult times and keeping her strong. Then there’s her best friend Beth, someone who has always been there for Alice as well, celebrating with her and commiserating with her too. This then leads to her questioning their friendship after she turns to her following the sudden strange behavior of her husband Nathan. Will she be able to sort the truth from the lies? Can she ever really know who to truly trust? What was the first mistake?
