Sandra Becker is an American author best known for writing Amish fiction. She is the author of the Amish Romance series, the Amish Countryside series, and the Amish Second Chance series. She is also the author of the Amish Siblings and Amish Wildflower series of books. She was a long time fan of reading Amish romance fiction books and decided to give it a try. Since then she has written multiple books and series, always focusing on that genre of fiction that she loved so dearly. Her books are designed to be clean, sweet romance with each book featuring faith in the Lord, discovering the good within us, and the ever-helpful support of the Amish community, and, of course, a happy ever after ending. She enjoys writing and reading Amish romance books because you are able to become immersed in them and keep the real world at bay. An Amish fiction book takes you to live in a far nicer place where where nothing bad ever happens and the simple country folk of the Amish community live by the highest values of faith, love, trust, and simplicity.

Let Go and Let God is the first book in the Amish Romance series. The book starts when Ruth’s father Samuel becomes worried about her. It is the eve of rumspringa, the time when young Amish people are sent out into the world to see if it is for them. This is when children must decide whether to be baptized in their church or leave for the outside world. Samuel is most worried that Ruth will leave and marry an Englishcer, but she heads out to stay with her aunt and everything is going well…for now. Samuel’s worries become realized when he finds that Ruth has become attracted to an Englishcer. This is his worst fears come true and and he must figure out how to deal with his daughter’s infatuation. Ruth is going to be faced with choosing between her family and this strange man that she is attracted to. The man is James Townsend, a doctor who is struggling with alcohol. He is sent to the Amish country to get clean and to study the people, but he finds himself drawn to Ruth. The two don’t seem to fit into each other’s lives, but the attraction is there and both will need to trust in God’s plan for their lives.

Sandra added to the Amish Countryside series with her book Amish Sweethearts. The book starts when a woman named Karen feels the room spinning. She is in such shock at what she has just heard come out of the mouth of her father. He has decided that Karen will be marrying Mark and he did it without even telling her. She is shocked by this, but knows that it is something he could do. He was her father and she was just a child in his eyes, even though she was 18 years old. The most heartbreaking thing for her is that she knows exactly who she wants to spend the rest of her life with and it’s not Mark, it’s Joshua. Karen loved him and he loved her back so she goes to tell him the news and figure out what to do next.

A Second Chance is another short entry in the Amish Countryside series. This one sees Hannah running into a man named Benjamin. The last time the two saw each other was twenty-two years ago when they first courted. The spark is re-ignited between them, but the two are different people now. They are no longer teenagers in love, but can the world give the two of them a second chance? Like all of Becker’s stories this one does not end on a cliffhanger and instead features a clean ending.

Becker also wrote The Wildflower Blooms. This story is about Sarah, a girl who always used to be a wild child. She would rebel constantly and going into the outside world during rumspringa seemed like the next natural step for her take. One her trip to the outside world, she meets a man named Jacob. He’s ex-Amish and left the community to follow his dream of becoming a doctor. He’s very near completing his goal when he meets Sarah and all his previous plans change. Jacob finds himself drawn to the Amish in her while Sarah thinks that she has finally found someone who understand her and her desire to no longer remain an Amish. Jacob will have to choose between his love for Sarah and his dreams of becoming a doctor. While Sarah will deal with what happens when her parents find out the truth about what she has been doing with her rumspringa.

Another Amish story by Becker is called Amish Chef. The title refers to Sarah who absolutely loves cooking and she really loves cooking unconventional recipes. Her parents allow her to do this and she’s grateful, but Sarah wants to dmore than joke experiment in the kitchen – she wants to open her own restaurant. A young Amish lad named James is looking for a special girl when he meets Sarah. He thinks that she might be the one, but when she shares her restaurant dreams with him, he becomes horrified. James starts to wonder if this relationship was a mistake while Sarah’s parents warn her that she could be shunned from the community if she keeps on with her stubbornness. Sarah is ultimately faced with a very difficult decision, her love of cooking or the love of her life?

The Unforgettable Englisher is a book about Beth King on her rumspringa. She is not looking to experience the English world, but is instead there to work to help support her parents. She works at a furniture shop where a handsome man named Jax also works. He quickly develops feelings for her and wants to know more about her, but is embarrassed by his past. Love was the last thing on her mind with this job, but she is drawn to him. Will she be able to concentrate on her work or will the Englisher’s charms win her over?
