Sarah Ballance is a USA Today bestselling author of suspense historical fiction and romance novels. Together with her husband whom she has been married to for many years, she makes her home on the mid-Atlantic coast.
Unlike many of her contemporaries, becoming an author was not something that she always dreamed about.

However, she would become a homeschooling mother and usually jokes that she had to write fiction since she usually has to make up stories if she wants anyone to listen to what she has to say.

Ballance has come to be known for writing memorable stories as she puts her characters through a lot of torture by engaging in hobbies that have nothing to do with bringing up half a dozen kids.

While she is a huge lover of edge-of-your-seat thrillers and nail-biting mysteries, she has been known to write in all manner of genres including ghostly paranormal and contemporary romance.

When she is not buried under huge piles of laundry, she can often be found on a boat in the Atlantic as she seeks that perfect writing spot where no one can disturb her peace.

The author Sarah Ballance began writing her first manuscript in 2009 after she had some surprising success writing non-fiction.

She got into fiction writing when a friend found out that she aspired to be a writer and encouraged her to pursue the dream. At the time, she did not have any confidence and told her friend that she did not stand any chance of making it in fiction writing.

Ultimately, she decided to at least try and within six months she had penned her first manuscript. Unlike many authors, she submitted the manuscript to just one publisher and was accepted.

While she never expected to be published, her work came out in 2010. Ironically that relationship with the publisher is what resulted in her meeting her editor friend.

It was her new friend that told her she needed to rewrite her first submission for Entangled. She credits her editor friend for giving her the motivation and desire to always improve.
The fact that everything fell into place so fortuitously after publishing her first novel always blows her mind.

As for how she came to write a story about the “Salem Witch Trials,” she has said that she has always been a fan of historical romance novels.

Sarah Ballance had gone to the submission page of “The Entangled Scandalous” looking for submission guidelines when she saw some mention of Salem.

Soon after she left the page, she called up her editor and told her she would be writing a historical romance based on the “Salem Witch Trials.” Obviously, the editor did not think it was a ridiculous idea as she told her she needed to pen it ASAP.

After a few days of laughing hysterically, sobbing, and curling up in the fetal position in a corner, she wrote the proposal and it was accepted on the first try.
Sarah Ballance did not have to do much research before writing her work as she had always had an interest in the Salem Witch trials and had a lot of information about it from TV shows on the History Channel.
The little research she did when she started writing was reading two non-fiction works that explored the trials. She would also do a quick search on Google whenever she needed to verify or learn about something.

Ballance also did a lot of research on words that were in use in 1692 which were a lot.

Sarah Ballance’s novel “Five Things I Love About You” tells the story of Estelle Donovan, a prosperous landscape artist from California who surprisingly hates big cities.

Between the suffocating summer heat, the grime, the drab concrete, and the smell she just cannot breathe.

She thinks hell is housesitting her brother’s apartment in New York, which comes complete with a smoking air conditioner and a broken elevator. She thinks she will only be there for a fortnight and that nothing could possibly go wrong.

On the other hand, Crosby Chase was not too proud of himself after he dumped a jar of pickles on a beautiful girl at the store. It was also not his finest hour getting a demonic cat getting a bite out of his butt when he was using her fire escape.

But he is determined to change her mind about New York. In fact, he thinks he will make her love his city if they can last a few minutes without getting into bed.

He never planned on falling in love especially since she lives so far away. Suddenly he realizes he does not have to find five reasons to make her stay but just one reason to make her love him.

“For Seven Nights Only” by Sarah Ballancetells of Kelsie Reed who is over bad men and bad luck. She is recently dumped and now finds herself the maid of honor at her sister’s wedding where her ex also happens to be the best man.

Things only get worse when her apartment has a plumbing disaster which causes her sexy neighbor to come to her rescue. The man looks like a serial philanderer which she thinks is unfortunate given how good he looks.

Sawyer Chase has a reputation for loving women but settling down is not his thing. However, when Kelsie tells him of how disastrous she is when it comes to dating and is about to be embarrassed at her sister’s wedding he takes over.

He will use the one week left before the wedding to coach her and help her get the man of her dreams. He intends to do it according to her instructions that include no kissing; no touching and of course nothing more.
Still, they may need to break some rules, particularly when they have something worth it to fight for.

“The Three Week Arrangement,” tells the story of Ethan Chase, a man that is no longer interested in dating.

He had lost the woman he loved more than life itself and would now prefer to ride solo even though, his family is determined to set him up with someone.

To stop them from interfering in his life, he hooks up with Rue Campbell an ultra-adventurous photographer.

What he needs is to make it through seven weeks with her and he will go back to being single but without the pressure, to move on and the pitying looks he is now getting.

On her part, Rue is practically counting down to when she can finally leave the Big Apple. The last thing on her mind is a relationship but she does not think she stands to lose anything by being a pretend girlfriend to Ethan.

But she could not have been more wrong as you cannot fake anything with Ethan in or out of the bedroom. With time not on their side and the sheets burning hot, she is soon falling for the man that is guaranteed to break her heart and derail her goals.
