Sarah Mayberry is an Australian published author of fiction.
The author was originally born in Melbourne, Australia. Her parents had three children and she is in the middle. She always loved books from a young age, and even took paper from her kindergarten classroom and put staples in them to make her own books.
For as far back as she can remember, Sarah always wanted to be a writer. She attended high school and once she graduated, she went about completing her bachelor of the arts degree in professional writing. Once that was done, she sat down and started trying to write a book. When nothing immediately came to mind, she started to wonder if maybe she needed to get out there and live her life some before attempting to put pen to paper (or fingers to a keyboard) and get out there to write more about life before she started writing about it herself.
She is very happy with her partner, who is named Chris. The two have been together for over a decade and she describes him as being a very talented scriptwriter. He is also helpful when it comes to her writing because whenever Sarah runs into a problem with her writing, he can come over to give her some advice. Any writing problems that she has, she can consult with Chris and he gives her some possible solutions. She also describes him as being sexy, funny, and handsome.
She’s constantly saying positive things about her partner, Chris, but Sarah also has a very active life of hobbies. When not busy writing, she likes to find a romance novel or a novel in the fantasy genre to sit down and enjoy. She also likes cooking for herself and her partner and friends. When she is not busy spending time with her partner or writing, she also enjoys sewing or going out to the movies. She also recently picked up doing Pilates, which she admits she should do more often.
Early on in her career, Sarah wrote some Regency Romances. When they were rejected by publishers, she decided to pursue journalism a bit more. However, she found inspiration to write romance stories again upon reading Anyone But You by Jennifer Crusie. She made improvements in the form of her characters. being sure to make certain that her characters were similar to people she knew. Her first novel was released in 2006 and is titled Can’t Get Enough and came out from Harlequin Mills and Boon.
Since then, she has put out over 45 romance novels. She has also worked as a story line worker and a scriptwriter for Neighbours, an Australian soap opera. She wrote for the television show for 1998 until 2022, when it was canceled. In total, she wrote 230 episodes of the show. Mayberry says that working on the show helped her in the area of romance writing to become a better romance novel. It was plotting a romance between characters on the show long term that helped her realize where she had been going wrong on her own writing. She even wrote three novellas in 2005 that were based on the show’s characters.
She has also worked on storylines for Shortland Street and the show Home and Away. She also co-created Karaoke High with her co-creator Kirsty McKenzie. The two went to TVNZ with their New Zealand teen drama in 2003. The network green lit the idea and developed it into a specialty soap opera that aired for three weeks.
Mayberry has also written The Lost Children television drama into book form. She wrote the novelization for Penguin Books. She is also working on a romantic comedy to air in the United States as well as a thriller series to be released in the United Kingdom.
Sarah Mayberry is the creator and author of the Secret Lives of Daytime Divas. The series started in 2007 with the release of the debut novel, which is titled Take on Me.
