Sarwat Chadda
Author Sarwat Chadda was born and grew up in London and writes kick ass adventures that have a touch of the dark side to them. He has traveled and lived all over the world, from Guatemala to China. He has been abandoned at a volcano, lost in Mongolia, hidden up a tree from a rhino in Nepal. As well as being chased around Tibet by the Chinese police and getting detained by Homeland Security in the US. He might just have that sort of face.
Being a writer helps him stay settled in one place and keep out of trouble. It is safe, avoids any kind of physical danger, and is indoors.
He has soaked up the legends, myths, and cultures of far away places. And with his Ash Mistry series, he aims to try and bring these unfamiliar stories of blue-skinned heroes and ten headed demons back home and put them right alongside exploits of Thor and Achilles. His heroes are the demon slaying Kali and Prince Rama. It’s about time you met them as well, right?
He won the SCWBI ‘Undiscovered Voices’ new writers’ competition in the year 2008 with an early draft of his novel “Devil’s Kiss”.
“The Savage Fortress” is the first novel in the “Ash Mistry Chronicles” series and was released in the year 2012. The monsters and gods of India roar to life in this thrilling fantasy! Ash Mistry, after his three week vacation, is ready to leave behind the dust and heat of India. Then he finds a gleaming gold arrowhead that is hidden in the sands, it is a weapon used to defeat evil King Ravana in the legend. At least, Ash is almost certain it is just legend.
However when Lord Alexander Savage pursues Ash, the legends suddenly become far too real. Savage commands his army of some monstrous shape shifters known as rakshasas, that just want to seize the arrowhead and restore Ravana to power.
While hunting Ash through brutal deserts and magnificent fortresses, he has to learn how to work with a powerful rakshasa girl called Parvati, and locate the strength inside of himself to battle on no matter what. Because this ain’t just a battle to stop the end of the world. It is a fight to stop the end of reality like we know it. No pressure or anything.
“The Templar’s Witch” is the second novel in the “Templar Chronicles” series and was released in the year 2020. Billi, who is still reeling from the death of Kay, her first love, is thrown back into action when the Templars get called in to investigate some werewolf activity. However these werewolves aren’t anything like she’s ever seen before.
They call themselves the Polenitsy: man killers. These ancient warrior women from Eastern Europe that supposedly got wiped out centuries prior. However now they have come out of their hiding places and are hunting for a Spring Child, which is an Oracle powerful enough to blow the volcano at Yellowstone and begin a Fimbulwinter that is going to wipe humankind out for good.
The Templars follow this stolen Spring Child on to Russia, and the only folks there able to fight the supernatural are the Bogatyrs, which are long-time foes of the Templars. In order to reclaim the Spring Child and save the whole world, Bill’s going to need to gain the trust of a young Russian noble, named Ivan Romanov, that is suspicious of people in general, but especially Bill.
This novel spans continents, from the Russian underworld to England, and the ruins of Chernobyl. It is adventure of myth and folklore that becomes darkly real. Of the entire world running out of time, and Billi SanGreal being the only one able to save it.
“The Templar’s Curse” is the third novel in the “Templar Chronicles” series and was released in the year 2021. Billi has returned. Wiser, older, and more lethal than ever before.
Billi, who is now eighteen, has settled into her life as a Knights Templar, a ruthless hunter of the Unholy at night and a London teen during the day. Beside her is a scion of the Romanov dynasty, named Ivan, that is a handsome and wealthy guy that is devoted to Billi. She’s got everything that she could ever wish for.
And it is soon going to be taken away from her. There is an ancient evil that’s risen up from the deserts in the Middle East and the one and only way that Billi could stop it is by destroying everything that she loves. Love, duty, and honor are all in a deadly battle. She has to learn how to draw on the darkness inside of her soul, and that to defeat the monsters, she’s going to have to become one herself.
These books combine secret societies, ancient mythology, and high stakes in a brutally dark world where no mercy is asked for, and none is given.
“City of the Plague God” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2021. This is an adventure based off ancient Mesopotamian mythology. Characters coming from the Epic of Gilgamesh are in this high-stakes contemporary adventure in which all of Manhattan gets threatened by the ancient god of plagues.
Sik, thirteen years old, just wants a simple life attending school and helping out at his parents’ deli during the evenings. However this gets blown to bits when Nergal comes around to try find him, believing that Sik holds the secret to eternal life. It turns out that Sik is actually immortal although he doesn’t know it, and that is about to get him and the whole city into some deep trouble.
Sik isn’t in this by himself. He does have Belet, the adopted daughter of Ishtar, who is the goddess of war and love, on his side. As well as Gilgamesh, a former hero that has taken up gardening in Central Park. Now all they must do is get the Flower of Immortality to save Manhattan from getting wiped out by disease. In order to succeed, they’re going to have to conquer treacherous gods, sly demons, and their own darkest nightmares.
