Sean Covey is an Irish published author, an innovator, a speaker, and business executive.

The author was born on September 17, 1964 in the United Kingdom in Belfast, Ireland. He would attend Brigham Young University, where he studied English and graduated with his degree in the subject, as well as University Honors. He served as the University’s starting quarterback on their football team for the 1987 and the 1988 football seasons but endured a sprained ankle and was benched. Before that, he received many honors and helped bring the team to win two bowl games. The junior season would see Covey injuring his knee quite badly, which would end up requiring him to get reconstructive knee surgery. He had the procedure done during the off season, but it would bring his career in football to a close.

Sean would then go to Boston, where he was employed in consulting at Deloitte and Touche. He would then travel to Texas to work in Dallas at Trammel Crow Ventures. The author would then go to Harvard Business School, where he graduated with his MBA. He then joined up with FranklinCovey, and has worked there in different capacities and roles. He has been the retail stores Vice President, a Productivity Practice Leader, the Executive Vice President of International, Vice President regarding products and innovations, and FranklinCovey’s Education President. Covey, the author’s father, titled “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”. It takes a similar approach but the topics and the book is directed more to teenagers exclusively and covers how they can enact structure in their lives to be more successful.
