Hailing from Phoenix in Arizona, Seeley James is an American author who is well known for his mystery thriller and suspense novels, as he is a master of his craft at being able to create an air of tension and suspense. Highly adept at crafting both compelling narratives and finely tuned character profiles, he manages to steer the reader on a journey throughout his intricately woven narratives that twist and turn on the page. Really drawing the reader in, he is able to build a feeling of trepidation, as he knows exactly what he is doing with his audience, allowing them to follow along for the ride. Clearly understanding his audience, he writes from a very real and true place to himself, allowing him to write in a manner that builds a sense of intimacy with the reader, allowing his characters to really resonate with them, regardless of where they’re from. This is something that he has worked at over the years, from his early days writing short fiction, to recent times writing full blown novels with witty and engaging characters. Writing about international conspiracies and dangers of a global nature, he writes action stories as well, as he really manages to incorporate a number of different elements into his work. This has seen him resonating with readers worldwide, as he relates to audiences regardless of where they’re from and who they are. The characters themselves come from a very real place, whilst the situations are somewhat larger than life, thus allowing the reader to really immerse themselves deep within his stories. Knowing what they want and what they’re looking for, his work sets about providing them with that, whilst also saying what it is that what he wants to say. With a lot more to come in the future, it appears that James is all set to carry on doing what he loves best; writing for a living and a passion.

Early and Personal Life

Born in Phoenix in Arizona, the author to be Seeley James would grow up with a strong passion for both reading and writing. This would progress throughout the years, as he would later go on to work in global management technology, something which would come to shape a large portion of his work to follow. Gaining a lot of experience and travel, he would later go on to marry his wife at thirty-seven, before turning to writing full-time, something which he continues to this very day.

Writing Career

Starting out writing short-stories, he would later turn to self-publishing, something which would prove to be enormously successful in the years to come. Speaking about this on the ‘Rocking Self Publishing Podcast’, he would go into this in even greater detail. Now speaking at various events he is continually looking to impart his wisdom and craft, something he will carry on for a long time yet.

Death and the Damned

Initially brought out on the 9th of November in 2016, this would originally come out through the ‘Machined Media’ publishing label to much acclaim. Marking the fifth title in the ongoing ‘Sabel Security’ series of novels, it really manages to capture the energy of the previous novels, whilst building a story and world all of its own. Developing the lead characters, it takes them and their stories forwards, really allowing them to come into their own as the narrative moves on.

Working ostensibly as a worldwide thriller set on a global scale, this builds upon the story of the previous novels, as it manages to spread the action out even further than before. Whilst readers will be fully aware of the leading protagonists, it will also manage to provide a deeper level of backstory, thus taking them even further into their world. Using a whole variety of locations as well, it is clear that James has done his research too, as he really manages to make the most of his world and his settings, really allowing everything to come alive off of the page.

Racing all across the globe in order to find and locate terrorists, the duo of athlete Pia Sabel and Jacob Stearne the veteran, they both aim to find the billionaire that is financing them. After rescuing an American from the ISIL organization, he has the threat dismissed as irrelevant by the bureaucrats in the American government, largely due to his previous mental health issues. Meanwhile Pia hopes to find the truth behind her parents murder, as she aims uncover the billionaire and protect global democracy, all whilst deciding who is friend or foe. Is her boyfriend to be trusted? Can they both discover the truth and save the day? What lies behind all the death and the damned?

Bring It

Originally published in 2013 on the 26th of June, this would provide an earlier entry into the backlog of work on the life and adventures of Pia Sabel. With her very own series titled ‘Trench Coats’, this would mark the third title in the franchise, as it would continue on from the last in a series of six novels in total. A definite must for any fans of the character as well as the author, it provides an action packed thriller filled with action and excitement.

Taking the reader on a journey this time, this would provide more of what James’s readers had now come to expect from him as an author. Creating a strong female protagonist in the lead role, he aims to cast allusions to other such roles as Katniss Everdeen and Lisbeth Salander. Knowing this world well by now too, he is definitely able to make it come alive in full color, as his descriptions leap off each and every page.

This time the character of Pia Sabel finds a resort that’s primarily catering the child molesters and traffickers, something that she aims to put a stop to. The only problem is that she didn’t realize how deep this really goes, as she finds herself deep within a conspiracy between government bureaucrats and the traffickers. If the agents themselves aren’t able to arrive in time then it would appear that she is in over her head, especially if she ever hopes to put an end to the child trafficking ring. Will she be able to stop it? Can she save herself? What will happen when she decides to bring it?
