Sharon Ahern is an American author of fiction. She was born in 1948 and was married to Jerry Ahern. Jerry and Sharon wrote many of their novels together and she lost a great deal when he passed away. He was the co-author to all of her novels as well as her partner in life. Together they wrote the Takers series, the Ed Mulvaney series, and more.

Jerry Ahern’s full name was Jerome Morrell Ahern. He was an author that wrote in the action and science fiction genres. He also wrote under the pen name of Axel Kilgore.

This author was best known for his series The Survivalist, which focused on fictional post-apocalyptic events and included lots of helpful real-life advice and techniques as the books contain tips as well as weapons that the protagonists use in order to forge a path and keep surviving in a world that seems like it will be at war forever. Sharon Ahern also contributed to this series, collaborating with Bob Anderson and her husband to pen eight novels in the series.

Ahern was also interested in firearms. He had several articles published in magazines such as Gun World, Handguns, and Guns & Ammo. He passed away after a long struggle with cancer and ultimately passed away July 24, 2012.

The Takers series features the adventures of Josh Culhane. He is an adventurer that is up for anything and isn’t afraid of much. When he is paired up with a beautiful educated woman on a quest to track down a bad guy (paired with his psychotic daughter along for the ride), they will be swept up on an adventure that takes them all over the place.

The Takers is the first book in the Takers series by dynamic married author team Sharon Ahern and Jerry Ahern. Here we get introduced to the character of Josh Culhane. He is an adventurer that will do anything and go anywhere. He is also teamed up with a scholar named Mary Mulrooney on a journey that may take them all over the world.

Josh is teamed up with the attractive Mary to pursue the satanic Steiglitz as well as his daughter. The two are in a race against time to grab a huge power that any world leader would want to get their hands on as it guarantees instant power. Now Josh and Mary must go all around the globe and through mazes of ancient ruins, human history, myth and more to battle their enemies and take them on in one last final stand.

The two eventually wind up somewhere they never expected to be: inside an ice cap in the Antarctic where they have found a very old starbase. Those that built it never got home. What will happen with this crazy discovery? Can Josh Culhane and Mary Mulrooney make it out of there alive and well? Pick up The Takers to find out!

River of Gold is the second book in the Takers series by Jerry and Sharon Ahern. This epic novel is yet another installment in this exciting and exotic series. Josh and Mary are back once again in this gripping story from the famous husband and wife writing team.

Full of rituals of exotic cultures and set in the Upper Amazon, you’ll be turning the pages to find out what happens in this amazing adventure. When an ancient map is found in the busy bazaar markets of Istanbul, things start to heat up. When an heiress is kidnapped, the ransom is for a million dollars.

Together Josh and Mary team up once again and go into the rainforest of Brazil. Their journey is going to take them on a boat that goes far up the river into the heart of the jungle. They may just find that the jungle will show its deepest, darkest secret. That secret is that it is the home to the city of the Amazon warrior women. The lost city that scholars thought was lost forever is hidden in the forests of Brazil beyond prying eyes.

This world is totally uncharted and is full of its own natural protection from Mother Nature. The waters are infested with flesh-eating piranhas. The forests are filled with tribal head-hunters that are not always going to be so happy to see outsiders. If you come to this area of the woods, then it had better be by invitation or you may find yourself susceptible to the many risks of the area. Whether they be warriors or fish or poisonous insects or disease-carrying mosquitoes, it’s a risky place for someone who isn’t from the area.

Dark secrets abound here, secrets that could be far more deadly than Josh or Mary ever anticipated. The secret may be so sinister that it may be overwhelming and challenge the mind’s deepest reaches. Josh and Mary may soon find out that they are in over their heads and that trouble is not something they are going to have to go looking for in order to find.

When Mary finds the map for a lost city in the Amazon, it seems too good to be true. This is exactly the type of faked or false thing that someone would sell to make a quick buck. But she thinks it’s authentic and waits for Josh to come meet her to check it out. Meanwhile, Jack is attacked by Russians while on a diving exploration. When he doesn’t show up, Mary decides that she’s going to go out on her own.

Meanwhile, a private jet is taken over at sea and the wife of a rich industrialist is squirreled away, kidnapped for ransom. The only person willing to bring that ransom to them happens to be our hero Josh.

When Mary is going the same way and an ex-special forces guy joins their team and a Brazilian anti-terror agent on the case to stop the ransom delivery, as well as headhunters, Amazon warriors, and more, things really start to heat up.

You’ve got to pick up this gripping novel to find out what happens next! River of Gold is an amazing adventure novel that will have you wanting to read more books in the series from Sharon and Jerry Ahern.
