Shay Davis is a Romance author born and raised in Philadelphia. She’s a paralegal, always fighting for the sake of others. Having been raised on the streets of Philadelphia and attending schools in the nearby suburbs, she struggled to be seen as not Hood enough for the street or good enough for the Suburbs.
Later Shay found comfort in her journal, putting down her inner thoughts and all her desires. She was passionate about capturing her emotions and began creating engaging stories about black love from the feeling she held inside her.

She started writing in high school and has sharpened her skills more. She has written some short stories in her black romance genre. Going through the path she created for herself, Shay is ready to share her stories with the whole world.

The Marriage Contract
Alexa is a 24-year accountant and feels she isn’t living an exciting life. She feels she has been boring and invisible to people and feels all this because she’s a plus-sized girl. However, she feels she chose her career well as an accountant since it’s society’s actual definition of a perfect female. Alexa plans her birthday trip to Vegas to try something different to spice up her life.

In Vegas, she meets Baseball Player Soul Mathias. Mathias is a bad boy trying to fix his image to get his contract extended. He enjoyed spending time with Alexa and had fun. Her innocence thrilled him, and he fell for her instantly.

After a night of partying and drinking, Alexa is surprised to wake up and find out she is married to Mr Mathias. He wants to stay married to improve his reputation for his contract to be renewed. Alexa feels Soul is treating her like any other ordinary girl, igniting something inside her that she never knew existed.

Even though their situation was unconventional, it worked, and their chemistry was off the charts. Their fake marriage works magic, and Soul’s contract gets extended while Alexa gets her Happily Ever After.
The two live together as a couple, and their chemistry has been intense since they first met. However, she feels that everything wasn’t real, and it was a high risk she took. Soul was blogged as high risk and a bad boy. The baseball owners used to reduce his contract extension due to his reputation. He never minded what social media said about him but cared about the money.

He knows to earn money; he has to put his life and act together. When Alexa walks into his life, he feels relieved to see someone so different from the ones he’s used to. However, he knows that what they have isn’t real as it’s only a marriage of convenience for now.

It’s refreshing to read about two characters who are the opposite of the other. They two balance and complement each other, bringing out their best. Soul was a confident and popular athlete, while Alexa was a low-key silent accountant. Alexa feels Soul has built confidence in her due to his admiration for her body, mind and spirit.

He shows how committed he is to their marriage and puts his career on hold to try and win her heart back. Shay Davis weaves the story to catch the reader’s attention right from the beginning.

The author briefly highlights the struggles the black athlete faces in the sports sector.
A Dash of Christmas Magic
Sinaa is back home for a long holiday for the first time in years. Where she feels judgmental eyes are all over the small town of Clarington, named Tennessee. In fact, she never had plans to return to the town. Were it not for her parents, she would never step afoot again.

However, she loved her parents so much that she couldn’t deny them the chance to see her and her daughter Zinae for the Christmas holiday. The people of the town treated her so bad after her teenage pregnancy.

Among Sinaa’s plans didn’t include a Christmas magic which came in the form of chocolate Adonis. After a dramatic divorce, Malachi Long came ready to support and protect his sister. However, Malachi didn’t expect to meet a beautiful lady in the town. He went ahead and made plans on how he would get to know her better even when he knew so well he won’t be staying long looking after his sister.

Malachi had plans to unwrap her during Christmas and hoped that Santa fulfilled his wish. Can Sinaa and Malachi experience a little Christmas magic that is able to last beyond the holidays? Might sparks fly towards the New Year?

When the two thought they were only getting a holiday stress relief, they got more than they bargained for. The more they spend time together, the more their feeling increases.

Malachi is a gentleman seeing how he not only steps in for his sister Melanie but also for Sinaa. He wanted to keep all the women in his life safe, and Sinaa deserved such kind of a man. She feels that her best revenge for those who wrote her off due to her teenage pregnancy was a success.
He ensured he put a smile on Sinaa’s face and took care of her mind, body and soul.

The story is well written, and character development was well done. Some moments of the story are funny with family bonds and newly found love.
A Dash of Christmas Magic is a romantic story of two people who allow them to be loved. The attraction and chemistry are intense, leaving the reader craving to read more about them.

The dialogue was hilarious, and Shay Davis delivered what one could be looking for in such kind of a novel. It’s a quick read with steamy and hilarious dialogue. The story is perfect as a Christmas gift to give the reader the festive spirit.

The plot twist will keep you engaged, wondering what will happen next. Malachi and Sinaa were perfect for each other, and the author did a fantastic job bringing them to life and making them lovable.

There are so many laugh out moments to ensure the reader stays entertained.
