Sheena Kamal is a Caribbean author of fiction. Although she is Caribbean, she immigrated to Canada when she was just a child and lives there to this day. Readers would know her most from her Nora Watts series.

Today, Kamal is an author of fiction. She attended the University of Toronto, where she graduated after studying Political Science. Kamal also received a scholarship (from TD Canada Trust) for her work in activism around homelessness as well as her community leadership.

Sheena Kamal is not just a writer, but she has worked as a researcher in crime as well as investigative journalism for television and film. This valuable experience paired with her vast academic knowledge effectively inspired Sheena to write her novel, titled Eyes Like Mine.

Sheena Kamal currently resides in Vancouver in Canada.

The Nora Watts series kicked off in 2017 with the publication of the debut novel, Eyes Like Mine. The book is also known by the title of The Lost Ones. Kamal quickly followed that up with a second book titled It All Falls Down. The third book is a short story and not so much a full novel and is titled In the Grip of It.

The Lost Ones is the debut novel in the exciting Nora Watts series by author Sheena Kamal! In this gripping book, you’ll get to meet the main character of who else but Nora Watts. She is the heroine that others are comparing to Lisbeth Salander from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books.

This story starts off with what else but a phone call. You need a little bit of detail for this one, because the past very much plays into the present. Nora gave her baby daughter up for adoption when she was a newborn fifteen years ago. She was adopted to a nice family who named her Bonnie.

Fast forward to today, where Bonnie has gone missing. The parents of Bonnie are desperate as it is like she has just vanished into the thin air. The police seem indifferent and so, running out of options, the parents try to reach out to Nora. She’s their last resort.

Nora has a deep and dark understanding about just how many missing girls fall through the cracks every single day. She knows it’s important to find this girl before someone else does. She can’t resist, even though the circumstances are very strange. It’s her daughter.

After all these years, a mother must start out on a search to find her child, with the adoptive parents’ blessing. Now she must go and try to find the daughter that she never got to grow up with and track her down. She doesn’t even have much to work with; however, Watts has her instincts as well as an uncannily accurate ability to tell when someone or something is lying– or a lie.

Armed with this ability to distinguish the truth from what is false, Nora goes on a journey to find Bonnie and get her back safely. However, doing so may just set loose a bunch of demons from her past that Nora doesn’t want to deal with or face.

However, Nora is about to stumble on a huge conspiracy that she never saw coming. This conspiracy is so large that it just might transport her somewhere away from the rainy days of Vancouver and all the way to the ice-covered Canadian mountains and wilderness.

As Nora ends up further away from home than ever before to save her daughter, will she be able to survive the ordeal? Or is the past truly beyond reach? Nora never wanted to be a mother necessarily, but now that is what has happened. On her way to face down the past and the demons to try and track down her daughter, Nora will do whatever it takes to find her. Read the first novel in the Nora Watts series to find out what happens in the end!

It All Falls Down is the title of the exciting second novel in Sheena Kamal’s series of fiction. The main character of Nora Watts is back once again, and this time she finds herself in yet another mess.

It turns out that she is being hunted. It all starts with a man coming up to her, claiming that he knew her late father. Nora is instantly affected by the encounter and in truth shaken up about it. She has been struggling with death on too many levels lately.

For one, her friend Sebastian Crow is also her mentor, and he is slowly dying from cancer. So when this man approaches her, Nora isn’t ready for all of the feelings and the memories that come back with the encounter. Now she is full of doubt, because she has no idea what to do with the information that her father killed himself.

What could have made him take his own life and abandon not only Nora but her sister too in the process? Nora is on a quest to try and find out the answers. So she goes to Detroit in an attempt to find out some more. She’s hoping that she can track down some more answers about what his life there was like.

Nora was expecting to find a true reason why he killed himself and chose suicide. But when she gets there, she finds that one thing leads to another and she’s really ending up with more questions to ask than any real answers of substance.

Things always seem to find her no matter where she is, and now Nora is in Detroit and about to get into trouble again. It figures– the city is just as broken-down as she has become. Can she truly find out more about the man that killed himself a decade ago?

You have got to read It All Falls Down by accomplished author Sheena Kamal to find out for yourself! If you liked this book, then check out the bonus so-called third novel in the Watts series (really sort of a Watts 1.5)– a short story by Kamal that is titled In the Grip of It.
