Other popular titles penned by her include Bone Song, Dying to Tell Me, One Perfect Pirouette, Trust Me I’m Dead, etc. Sherryl is also known to have published a picture book of poems and other titles including Pirate X, Now I Am Bigger, and the Rose series, which is a part of the popular Our Australian Girl series. In addition to writing novels, Sherryl is employed at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia as a professor of creative writing. She has released her books in Australia and abroad in over 10 countries.

Many of her books have received nominations for several prestigious awards as well as won a few of them. Author Sherryl is well known for writing for readers of all ages. She has developed a mastery in writing short fiction, poetry, YA books, picture books, and adult novels. Sherryl has obtained a Ph.D. in the subject of creative writing, specializing in fairy tales. She has developed a separate website that is used for providing coaching to aspiring writers. Sherryl helps in mentoring such writers so that they can improve their editing abilities. Author Sherryl entered the world of crime fiction with the novel called Trust Me, I AM Dead. It received a CWA Dagger Award nomination. Her poetry collections for adults, Thicker Than Water and Edge, were released under the banner of Pariah Press.

In addition to these, Sherryl is involved in teaching poetry and fiction writing at Victoria University Polytech through a diploma course in Professional Writing & Editing. Author Sherryl was born in Kawakawa, New Zealand in 1956. She completed her initial education and graduation in New Zealand before moving to Australia in 1978. During the first few years of her writing career, she used to write for fun. Most of her writing was done while traveling to overseas locations. Many of them were letters that she used to write for her family members and friends. It was in 1981 that Sherryl first relocated to Melbourne. There, she undertook a class in creative writing at a popular learning center. This encouraged her to study arts and thereby led to her admission to Deakin University.

After moving into the field of community writing, Sherryl taught writing workings to members of the Victorian Community Writers and was also a part of it for several years. For six years, she had held the post of the Writing & Publishing Officer of the Footscray Community Arts Center. Sherryl’s first writing class allowed her to become a part of an exciting women’s group that is still going strong. She believes that group, Western Women Writers, has been a great help and inspiration for her throughout the years. The group is credited to have started Australia’s first and only women’s poetry magazine known as Poetrix and Sherryl takes great pride in being a part of it.

Author Sherryl began writing children’s books in 1996. She was encouraged to do so by one of her friends named Meredith Costain, who herself has penned and edited a large number of YA and children’s books. Sherryl went on to publish her first children’s book in 1997 and since then, she has successfully published more than 40 children’s & YA books in Australia, UK, and the US. Sherryl thinks that being involved in self-publishing in the early days of her career was one of the best things that she did. She was employed in a printing company at that time. Through this company, Sherryl produced many magazines and anthologies and also helped others in publishing their work.

Recently, she earned her Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Hamline University, St. Paul, Minnesota. After that, she achieved her doctorate in creative writing in 2018 from Victoria University. As of today, Sherryl divides her time between writing, editing, and teaching. She enjoys that latter very much as it gives her great pleasure to teach something fruitful to others. Sherryl hopes to become a full-time writer soon and focus only on her writing projects. In her spare time, she likes to attend writers’ conferences, workshops, and events and also participate as a speaker in some of them. Author Sherryl hopes to achieve new heights of success in the years to come through her hard work and dedication.

A popular book written by author Sherryl Clark is entitled ‘Pirate X’. It was released by the UQP publication in 2011. This book features the lead character in the role of Will and is based on time travel. Initially, Will is introduced as a resident of London, who gets transported to 1717 with the help of a portal. He finds himself on a pirate haven called Nassau. Will is forced to become a crew member of a pirate ship and work like others against his will. During his time onboard, Will learns to fight, fire a cannon. Over time, he forms a good bond with Captain Bonnet. Will tries to find a way to move back to his world. He makes up his mind to find out what caused his transportation into the past. Another hostage onboard, Blackbeard, grows suspicious of Will’s activities and the changes in his behavior. He causes obstacles in his path and makes it difficult for him to get back to where he belongs.

Another exciting book penned by Sherryl is known as ‘Trust Me, I’m Dead’. It was published in 2019 by Verve Books. The lead character of this novel is depicted as Judi Westerholme. Initially, it is shown that Judi Westerholme has not seen her brother for many years as he is estranged from her. When she learns that he has been murdered, it shocks her from within. Judi thinks that his murder might be linked to his drug addiction. But, when Judi is told that her brother had overcome his drug addiction and was clean for several years, she is shocked even more. She also learns that he had a wife, a child, and lived a respectable life. Judi sets out to find her brother’s wife, who was missing since the killing of her brother, to find out why he was killed when he had set his life on the right path. While trying to unravel the truth, Judi is forced to deal with her traumatic past, but that doesn’t stop her from getting to the bottom of the mystery.
