Shirlee Busbee is a reputed writer from The United States, who is famous for writing historical fiction, contemporary, and romance books. She has written several widely successful book series in her career. Some of her most prominent romance series include the Louisiana series, The Reluctant Brides series, the Southern Women series, and the Becomes Her series. She is also known to have written a few standalone books in her literary career. Author Busbee has been writing romance stories since 1977. She has sold more than 9 million printed copies of her novels altogether. Busbee has won many prestigious awards throughout her career for her excellent contributions, include the Reviewers Choice Award by Romantic Times, Bronze Pen prize, and the Affaire de Coeur Silver award. Author Busbee was born as Shirlee Elaine on August 09, 1941 in San Jose, California, United States. She was the eldest among three brothers and two sisters. Busbee’s father was a naval officer, which allowed them travel to different places in the world. She completed her schooling from a school located in Kenitra, Morocco. She joined Burbank Business College after returning to California. There, she came across her loving future husband named Howard Busbee and got married to him in 1963, one year after achieving her graduation degree.

Following her marriage, Busbee started working in the Solano County as a draftsman. While working for this job, Busbee met her mentor and friend, author Rosemary Rogers. She inspired Busbee to take up writing and consider it as a serious career option. As of today, author Busbee resides in Northern California along with her family. She enjoys being a successful author and hopes to keep writing novels and entertaining her fans as along as her body permits her with the strength to do so. Besides writing novels, author Busbee has interests in raising domestic animals. She raises Standard schnauzers, Shetland Ponies, Miniature Schnauzers, and several other animals. Among the various jobs taken up by Busbee before the beginning of her writing careers, she was a receptionist at Martin County & Abstract Co., a plant supervisor at Fairfield Title Co., and a drafting and technician and secretary for Department of County Parks, Fairfield.

Starting from 1977, author Busbee has penned more than 18 books in her entire career. Seven of her books have been bestsellers, listed in the NY Times bestselling list. Over the years, author Busbee has experienced a tremendous amount of success, both nationally and internationally. Her novels have been translated into a number of foreign languages across many countries of the world. After Busbee’s first book, Gypsy Lady, acclaimed worldwide success, she went on to create a niche of her own in the genre of historical romance. Busbee takes a great pride in knowing that her books are popular even today and are being read with the same enthusiasm as they were ready when they first came out. Author Busbee manages her time efficiently, keeping her working and family time separate. During her spare times, she and her husband like to be in the company of their domestic animals. The Louisiana series written by author Shirlee Busbee is comprised of a total of 11 books, which were released between the years 1977 and 2000. Each of the books of this series revolves around the lives of the Manchester, Savage, Slade, Blood, and Drinker families. The primary characters mentioned by Busbee include Catherine Tremayne, Jason Savage, Sabrina, Brett Dangermond, Morgan Slade, Leonie, Savanna O’Rourke, Adam St. Clair, Rafael Santana, Beth Ridgeway, and several others. An entertaining book of this series is entitled ‘The Tiger Lily’. It was released by the Avon Books in 1985. This book also forms part of the Southern Women novel series of author Busbee. At the beginning of the book’s story, it is depicted that Brett Dangermond gets lost in the moment’s desire when Sabrina’s golden hair falls luxuriantly about her beautiful shoulders.

Sabrina used to adore Brett when she was a young girl, but now she seems rather confused and fearful. Sabrina appears to be longing for love that she was deprived of some years ago. Brett Dangermond was involved with her, but left her for the lust of a rival than her beauty. She felt that he shamed her innocence and pride, and the treachery broke her heart. Brett comes back in Sabrina’s life when her father makes him the guardian of her life and the entire estate. Sabrina didn’t want to belong to the man she had not forgiven, but didn’t have any choice. Even though both of them try hard to suppress the burning passion within themselves, they fail and instead get close again. Their souls and bodies get entwined in the possession of their love’s magnificent splendor.

Another exciting book that Busbee wrote in this series is called ‘While Passion Sleeps’. It was also published by the Avon publishers in 1983. This book is linked with Busbee’s Reluctant Brides series. The main characters of this book include Beth Ridgeway, Rafael Santana, and Nathan. At the start of the story of the book, it is shown that Beth Ridgeway possessed an exquisite beauty that made men filled with desire. She was married to Nathan and he seemed to be the only man not interested in her. Rafael Santana belonged to a wealthy family in Texas. He was arrogant and darkly handsome. The Comanches had kidnapped him when he was young and turned him into a fierce warrior. In spite of receiving a gentleman’s upbringing for several years after his kidnapping Rafael could not conceal his savage strength. Beth used to see Rafael as an insensitive and cruel man. She thought that he uses women for selfish desires and tosses them away after fulfillment of his pleasures. Rafael used to think of Beth as an unfaithful and flirtatious women. He believed that she breaks the hearts of men and takes pride in it. In spite of having so many differences and ill thoughts about each other, Rafael and Beth sense a sparkling fire in each other hearts when they saw each other for the first time. This fire couldn’t be denied by any of them. Even the violent misunderstandings and differences could not diminish the developing passion of magnificent love.
