The book was written via a sheer grit and determination, so is the heroine represented in the novel. The character is somehow a grown version of her oldest daughter, who is robust and tough but sweet and soft on the inside and always longs for her family and home.

Shirlee McCoy is the newest project is a trilogy about three brothers returning home to care for their six orphaned nieces and nephews; the novel is set in Benevolence. The trilogy is mainly themed on a creation of a robust and lasting bond from the ashes of the traumatic past, binding of the family together with the chords of the childhood memories. Like many of the author’s books, the trilogy core is about belonging, love, acceptance, faith, hope, family, and home.

Running For Cover

Running for Cover is the first novel in Heroes for Hire series by American bestselling inspirational novelist Shirlee McCoy. Morgan is a lady who needs protection having been beaten by men regarding something that she knows nothing about. On the other hand, Jackson is the young man in right place at the right time. He is a retired homicide detective, now working as a private investigator. Fortunately, he stops by at the shop where Morgan had just been attacked, while buying a wedding present for a mutual friend.

The Private Investigator upon finding the attacked Morgan, he promises her that he will keep her safe. A series of events sparks and sooner Jackson finds himself face to face with the evil guys. However, he is determined to ensuring that he sticks by his promise even if it means protecting Morgan against her will.

Running for cover is an enjoyable novel on many levels. The book also brings forth wonderful characters who seem real and compelling, from Jackson the PI, Morgan from Lakeview, Washington, her family friends Jude & Lacey. As expected from great authors like Shirlee McCoy, the plots are great, with some twists but a good flow between chapters with the aim of capturing reader’s attention. This is a love inspired suspense that you do not want to miss.

Running Scared

Running Scared is the second book in Heroes for Hire series by Shirlee McCoy. In this novel, Teacher Maggie Tennyson is reuniting a nine-year-old boy with his father after he went missing five years ago. On the other hand, the man Maggie once loved is tracking her down to kill her or possibly do more harm. Fortunately, when Kane, a private investigator and the father reunited with his missing son by the teacher visits Maggie, he realizes that the teacher is running from something and this raises his curiosity to discover what it is.

Also, the private investigator son’s attachment to Maggie gives him an excuse to stay in touch with her due to his growing affection towards the teacher.

Shirlee McCoy is a riveting and an engaging writer; she has a unique way of character creation. Her story about the private investigator, Kane, and his long lost son knits his struggle with his faith in humanity as well as God. His journey through the small town inter knits his life together with the lives of the town’s people. The author’s precision in ensuring that suspense is well built to a climatic conclusion keeps the readers reading so as to find out the happenings in the lives of the characters as well as their search for the confirmation of their faith in God. Shirlee McCoy inspirational series allows the good to overcome the evil an affirmation that there is hope even when one’s life seems to be hitting the bottom rock.

Running Blind

It is the third novel in the Heroes for Hire series. However, their investigation sparks a series of events and soon Jenna finds her life in the cross-hairs as she is accused of being a drug dealer. As the two run for their lives, an attraction sparks between them. Will Jenna fall in love with the ex-marine despite her experiences from her last relationship?
