Sian Ann Bessey is a historical romance and inspirational fiction author from Idaho. The author was born in Cambridge, England but spent most of her childhood in the North Welsh island of Anglesey.
She would ultimately leave England and head to the United States where she majored in communication for her bachelor’s degree. Sian was still a student when she began writing and publishing her short articles in magazines.
Since then she had published romantic suspense and historical romance in addition to several children’s fiction works. Over the years, she has been nominated for the Whitney Award and became a USA Today bestselling author.
While Sian does not have the opportunity to speak Welsh often these days, she still tries to practice with her children and husband. Sian and Kent her husband currently make their home in Southeast Idaho where they live with their five children and grandchildren.
Sian is a huge lover of traveling and has been all over the United States and across the world experiencing other cultures. When she is relaxing at home what she loves doing when she is not writing is reading cooking and spending time with family.

Unlike most authors, Sian Ann Bessey never wanted to be a writer growing up. She always loved to read but does not remember any longing to become a writer. What she loved was to create visual images and read and hence, using words is something that she always found fascinating.
It was not until she published “Forgotten Notes” her debut novel in 2001 that she considered trying her hand at becoming a professional author. It was while she was in College that she got her first start when she submitted an article to the magazine New Era.
She was fortunate that the magazine published it and asked for more articles. Over several years, she penned several articles for the magazine until her father began encouraging her to pen a book.
Initially, writing a long-form work of fiction seemed like a very daunting task. However, she was encouraged given that she was writing a story about family and this gave her endeavors special meaning.
Once she was done, her sister-in-law suggested that they send the manuscript to a publisher. Three months later Covenant Communications’ managing editor contacted her to let her know they would be publishing her novel. This would mark the beginning of an exciting and long writing journey.

As for inspiration, Sian Ann Bessey usually gets her ideas for her books from all over the place. Sometimes it can be as simple as visiting a place that she then makes the setting for her next novel.
Some of her novels have their inspiration from learning about the experiences of her ancestors. Some come from a desire she has to share with the world the rich heritage of her Welsh homeland.
When her children were little she used to pen her novels when they were sleeping. As the children got older and she got sucked into life activities, she would steal a few moments here ad there.
She used to think about her storylines, characters, and settings as she cleaned the house, did the dishes, drove her children to piano lessons, and cleaned the house.
Whenever she had a few minutes, even if it was while she was waiting for dinner to cook, she used to head to the computer abnd write whatever little she could. She nowadays has more time to write given that her children are older.

“The Noble Smuggler” by Sian Ann Bessey tells the story of Elizabeth Doyle the daughter of a smuggler. Despite living with her father for all her life, she has never gotten involved in smuggling even though smugglers regularly frequent the inn.
